Then a piercing noise sounded throughout the building as a fire alarm went off.

Because why get a good night's sleep when you could be dragged out of bed to wait on the tiny, under-worked Fandom Fire Department to come make sure everything was fine?

Please, Beau wasn't going to judge anyone about being armed in these situations.

It was an interesting weapon, though, and she was an interminably inquisitive person, so she did raise an eyebrow at it as she passed by.

Danny gave a 'thank you' gesture of someone who fully agreed with that sentiment. "Soon as the fire department gets here, we'll be good to go back in."

The Fandom Fire Department who mostly just hung out. Had barbecues. A whole rich life for those NPCs.

And that would be Rey not so subtly looking literally anywhere else because she didn't know what to do with all of that.

Silver huffed out a laugh. "I wish I could say I was surprised but..."

"Sorry," Jesse said automatically, placing her hand over the gun - or really, collection of blocks shaped like a gun - like that would make it beter somehow.

"Oh, no ♥," Shunsui's chuckle worked its way into a laugh easily, almost as if a chuckle was just too quiet on its own, anyway. "Those conversations usually start with 'you're actually up before noon?' ♥'?"

The expense part, he just seemed to mentally brush away, either as unimportant or simply not worth addressing.

Yasha had been asleep, too, but last night had been one of the nights where sleeping inside was too difficult for her and she'd ended up wandering over to the park and dozing off under a tree there instead, so all the commotion had startled her awake.

Which was why, when she approached, her eyes were solid black and a massive pair of skeletal, bat-like wings was spread out behind her. (Though that sort of thing tended to blend into the darkness if you weren't looking straight on, or not awake enough to notice, or something like that.)

"What is going on?"

Karolina gave him a groggy, slightly offended look. Because of the loudness. Even though the alarm was still going off.

Look, she was tired. Her thought processes weren't what they could have been.
