And then once the sun had set, something changed. Across the island, people ~~who chose to~~ began transforming into the person or thing they were representing tonight. If, say, someone was dressed as a sheep, they might now be a real sheep, wandering the floor around people. The zombies still had their bowl cuts, only now they were real, and they weren't any more talented but they at least had more style.

So, well, if you weren't yourself now, make yourself at home! If you were yourself now, good luck with all of it.

Scooby, now that he'd had a Scooby Snack, was sniffing around for whatever mystery there might be. It was a dead body, guys. Please think about the dead body.

"This place sure is different from our normal investigations," Daphne said. Because it was a bar.

Well, don't sleep on the missing toddler sheep, either! There was a Lot Going On.

"It's not an abandoned fishing village, that's for sure," Fred agreed.

"Or an abandoned amusement park!" They went to a lot of abandoned places. Oh god, was Scooby Doo actually set in the modern day Rust Belt?

"Or a beach town closed up for the summer!" Fred added helpfully.

It was also weirdly free of mist and fog!

"Well, there's always a first time for a mystery." No there wasn't. The writers weren't paid enough for that.

Fred looked dubious about that. Or constipated. He didn't have a huge range of facial expressions. "I guess."

"We better get started!" They only had 20 minutes if animation left.

"I'll lead the way!"

Around the bar. It wasn't that difficult.

"Ruh roh!" Scooby said. You know, helpfully.

"I sure wish we had Velma around," Daphne said. Because, honestly, she was the best at this part of it.

Fred was generally there for the eye candy.

"Well, if you don't fall through a trap door, you can help solve this one!"

Very helpful, Fred.

"That doesn't always happen, you know." Just most of the time. Like, 80% of the time.

"Sometimes it's a secret library bookshelf," Fred said, smiling.

"There was one time when it was mirror." THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT BETTER.

"That was groovy!" Fred said. "Once we caught the fake ghost, I mean."
