Caritas- Saturday evening after sunset

And then once the sun had set, something changed. Across the island, people who chose to began transforming into the person or thing they were representing tonight. If, say, someone was dressed as a sheep, they might now be a real sheep, wandering the floor around people. The zombies still had their bowl cuts, only now they were real, and they weren't any more talented but they at least had more style.

So, well, if you weren't yourself now, make yourself at home! If you were yourself now, good luck with all of it.

He had been ignored by these fools for too long. Probably because he was lurking creepily in the shadow instead of even trying to act civilized but that was beside the point. He had been ignored! Even when he'd left notes with beautiful calligraphy detailing his demands! That he'd left the notes on the bar where Frankentino was in charge and not likely to pay any attention was also beside the point.

Now, they would pay attention while he performed his masterwork. Well, maybe he was still workshopping it. And it would have been better with an attractive young soprano but all he had to work with were the zombies. At least there was a keyboard, used by a zombie he'd shoved aside. An organ, obviously, would have been preferable but at least a synthesizer was on-brand for a character from a mid-80s musical.

Somehow, a folder full of sheet music was produced from the folds of his cloak which he set on the keyboard in front of him before starting to play selections from Don Juan Triumphant. This REALLY would have been better with an attractive young soprano singing the female lead part instead of a zombie. The zombie added absolutely nothing.

Wayne had not dressed up, but, apparentleh, the blue skin was close enough for Fandom to screw around with it, and where there was once a surly blue-skinned boy nursing a Puppers, there was now a very small blue-skinned Smurf wondering just how exactly he was going to get down from this stool he was on.

...or how he even got up there in the first place!

Was the Phantom jealously guarding a seat in the lounge with a good view of the stage? Yes.

Was he lurking in the shadows? Yes.

Was he very disappointed that none of the zombies were pretty young sopranos? Yes.

Was he considering sharing some of his own opera with the patrons of this establishment? Also yes.

So, Lucille and Tisarwat had met earlier that evening for dinner and dressing up at Lucille's, and time had flied quickly with talking, playing the piano and looking up details in the novel which had inspired their costumes. As they left for Caritas the sun was already setting, and when they arrived they were no longer quite themselves.

Luckily someone had been kind enough to invite them. Lucille leaned close to Tisarwat, whispering in her ear:

"So, what do you think?"

Caritas, it seemed, was going to stand in for the Paris Opera this evening. And The Opera Ghost himself was in attendance at what seemed to be something of a masquerade.

In proper Opera Ghost fashion he was going to be lurking in the shadows for the most part. Although the stage presented a temptation of sorts.

There were perks to being an angel. Many of them, actually. Being able to control your own presentation to the detail based on your emotional state was one of them, and so when the room turned, Lucifer, who still felt (like an emotional wreck) the same, did not.

He did notice Duke turning into a raccoon from the corner of his eye, though.

He sank into a seat in the back room after a moment or two, drink in hand. He wasn't going to ask. He really wasn't. He was just going to sit here, alone, and try not to reflect too much on the night thus far.

"I really need to get my groove back," he muttered to himself as he failed at avoiding any errant thought, and reached into his pocket to refill his glass from his flask.

Normal Living Human Professor Shunsui Kyōraku was so pleased to have made it back from his very normal sabbatical in his incredibly typical homeland of modern Japan just in time for a party! Judging by the incredibly lavish couple he'd invited in with him (that he very much did not sense anything supernatural about, because, naturally, being a Normal Living Human Professor, he didn't believe in that sort of thing) were any indication, he felt just a little bit underdressed for the occasion!

Maybe someone would have some spare cat ears he could borrow?

Hopefully, though, the drinks would be flowing liberally enough that no one would really care in due time, anyway!

Just like that, Fulgora's attention was on high alert. There was a clear tension in the air, and she quickly, deftly, hit the ground to roll under a table for cover while she took a moment to assess the situation.

Pulling a very large walkie-talkie out of...somewhere, she pushed the button as she looked around. "Starwar, it's Fulgora. Do you read me? Benjamin? Loggins? Do you copy?"

Rey had not actually had a very good handle on what a "good witch" was aside from some YouTube clips so it was possible that this Glinda was slightly off.

Her dress was huge, though. Like you really had to walk around her.

Eric couldn't show up before the sun set because being on fire was not cute, but he'd put practically zero thought into his costume of "Vampire, But the Kind Who Glittered In the Sun" and was now at the party, brooding in a corner and being creepy about students.

And it would seem that missing sheep was a surprisingly common problem to have that evening in this specific bar!

"Oh, bother," sighed Bo Peep...the other one...after a glance under a table yeilded no results, her shoulders sagging with a considerable pout, her voice much higher pitched and girly than usual, "it seems I really have lost my sheep!"

Sir Blackstone would have thought herself so smart for thinking of a costume that she could not only make herself, but would also avoid that terrible issue from her first Halloween here where she actually did turn into a vampire, if Sir Blackstone had even realized that that was exactly what had happened again.

For now, she was mostly trying to think of if there was a good way to drink her ale without having to remove her armor before going and seeing if there was some sort of quest she could pursue while she was here. Why else would she be in a tavern if it wasn't in hopes to find a quest?

And just like that, Annie's primary concern was no longer the fact that she was getting a little tipsy, but rather getting away from these people in this enclosed space.

She flapped insistently, letting out a series of little alarmed squeaks, and headed through the crowd to try to find somewhere to hang before she got trapped in someone's hair. And since the squeaking was part of the finding, there was just sort of a flappy, squeaking bat flying in increasingly panicked laps around the bar, now.

Diego had not turned into a kitty cat, no. He was, however, a very confused man dressed as a cat.

He looked down at his drink, almost hoping he had been drugged. That would be easier to deal with than whatever the hell was going on here.
