A few pizzas had been randomly delivered to the bar that evening, which was great, because who didn't love pizza to go with their jello shots? There was plenty of it, too, so Summer was quick to update her special's board:

Wednesday Specials!
Free Pizza with each Jello Shot!
Root Beer Barrel
Winter Berry Punch
Cottage Cheese and Salmon

And here she figured the idea of chasing a bite of pizza with a cottage cheese and salmon jello shot would be the most disgusting thing she'd encounter that day, until she turned around and discovered quite possibly the most horrific thing her poor eyes had ever seen.

Which was saying a lot, you guys!

"Tino," she said, slowly, with the reservation of someone who wasn't sure she really wanted an answer to the question she was about to ask, "what are you doing?"

"It's too hot," Tino explained, as he ran his slice of pizza under the stream of cold water in the sink, "so I'm cooling it down."

"...What. The hell...?"

There was a problem. Seivarden wouldn't have minded free food, especially not since she had run out of leftovers from Ignis' cooking this weekend.

But it was pizza. Was she going to have to endure watching people eat that with bare hands in order to talk to Summer? And try jello shots, but talking to Summer was more important.

"Do you have silverware?"

"Ohmygod," said Summer, not in the least bit surprised by this request and quick to appease, digging out some cutlery to go with that nice greasy slice of pizza on a paper plate that was now appearing on the counter in front of Seivarden, "you can have a the silverware you want, and it will still not even be close to the worst thing I've seen done to pizza today."

Tino was officially the worst person Summer had ever met, and she knew a lot of pretty shit people.

"Can you tell me about that after I've finished this?" Seivarden said. "I have to point out that not eating with your hands is the civilised thing to do, even though I know you know that."

"Pizza, you say." You know what Annie liked almost as much as doughnuts? Pizza.

She was just, like, going to preemptively set her phone alarm for the next morning a half hour earlier as she sat down, because pizza and jello shots - while worth it - meant she'd be throwing some extra miles at her training tomorrow. "Special occasion? Or are we just, like, feeling pizza?"

"Caritas has been blessed," Summer explained, getting for Annie a slice and the trio of shots, "with one of Fandom's random and often excessive pizza deliveries this evening, so I figured we might as well make the most of it. How've you been, Annie? Have I gotten to bitch at you yet over how upset I am for having missed last weekend?"

"You know, I was going to ask if I just missed an adorable little redheaded moppet running around," Annie noted, shaking her head in sympathy. "Were you doing something fun, at least?"

Hey. It was enough to distract her from her usual greeting.

"Bourbon."

Oh. There it was.

And, look at that, Summer practically had it poured by the time it managed to get out, too. Keeping the bottle close at hand, as well.

"Oh, didn't you hear?" she asked. "Cottage cheese is the new mayo.
