THREE MINUTE DATES

Of course if you were also too distracted or whatever to notice it, who could really blame you? It could just be a busy night at the bar, where Tino was taking signups for the event tonight, willingly or not.

A couple minutes before 8:00, Kitty stopped the zombie band and took the stage as a "THREE MINUTE DATES" banned unfurled behind her. So if you hadn't noticed before now, too late!

"Good evening, everyone! Welcome to Caritas for yet another night of Three Minute Dates!" Kitty greeted them. "If you don't know how this event works, it's simple: your name will get called with another name. You find each other, talk for three minutes, and then this shiny gong sounds and it's on to round two. You'll do this five times. And you might be thinking, 'three minutes isn't enough time to get to know someone,' you're right! That's why the bar will be open afterwards for you to maybe find someone you clicked with and get to know them better-"

Someone- Tino? Hopefully not a zombie- wolf whistled.

"-Whatever 'getting to know them' means to you," Kitty added. "You've still got about a minute to add your name but not enough time to flee the bar!"

[[Three minutes = ten comments total, five per person. Feel free to go a little over but don't get carried away. You have other dates to get to! A regular bar post will go up later, and you can absolutely finish things up on Sunday!

"In the meantime," Shunsui said, grinning fondly as he really was putting some of the finishing touches on a composition in his head, "you're well-overdue for some sake, as well, Jaye-chan ♥. Very few things go better with good poetry quite like good sake ♥."

With that, the drink was poured and the cup carefully balanced in Shunsui's fingers was being offered out for her.

"Okay, you're making it up to me now," she decided, taking the cup.

"Then allow me to continue," Shunsui said smoothly, now pouring a little sake for himself, "to raise myself in your esteem, Jaye-chan ♥."

And with a thoughtful sip and a shift of his hand, Shunsui then danced his hair in the air as his voice dropped into a deep, rumbling sort of recitation:

"With the patience of the snow-capped mountain
Vibrant as the first flower of spring.
Do the birds cease singing in awe?
Or merely because they know
Even their brightest songs cannot compare...
When it lovely Jaye-chan," with a grin and reverent bow of his head, "standing there ♥."

He didn't think that was half bad for being literally made up on the spot! Because he had definitely not been working on it.

"Okay," Jaye decided, "that was actually pretty damn good."

And Shunsui felt a swell of genuine pride in his smile at the response. Now he almost wished he had written it down. Ah, well. He was sure he could remember it later...

"I assure you, Jaye-chan," he said, "I would never keep a lady in suspense without making sure it was well worth the wait ♥."

And that was when the gong went off.

"Some timing," she said.

"Never quite enough ♥," Shunsui commiserated with a faint chuckle and a sad wag of his head, "but sometimes just a taste makes it all the sweeter when the hunger is finally satiated, neh ♥? We should do this again sometime, Jaye-chan ♥."

The dates? The poetry? The flirting? All of it? All left as questions with the flutter of flowery pink haori like the wind as Shunsui bowed slightly and made his way over to his next potential paramor.
