Homecoming Carnival, The Park, Friday

The weather had been kind, and it was just the right amount of cool for a Halloween-themed Homecoming carnival. The booths and activities were ready for visitors, and the Halloween decorations and spooooky music playing everywhere aimed to set the right kind of mood for everyone.

Yes, there was also black and orange glitter everywhere, because of course there was. Feel free to take some home with you, because it's going to be difficult not to!

"Oh, sure, I'm sure it's good for circulation or something," Faye agreed. "Like having ice water dumped over you at a high school dance."

Just in case there was any doubt about what this was about. Yeah, yeah, paintball all summer, avenging her alien, et cetera. But Faye had been cold and wet by Anakin's hand and it still personally offended her.

"We didn't, either." But they would have. He'd just happened to stop them before they had. "But you know, I've learned that sometimes it's better to preemptively make sure no one does anything inappropriate before they even can."

She did not actually believe that, at all, but she was closing an eye to take aim at the target, anyway.

"I mean, you kind of are," Faye pointed out. "There's students here and if they needed help you're, like, in charge, aren't you?"

She wasn't expecting an answer, since she sent the ball flying at the target just then.

"You cheated!" How Faye hadn't seen this coming was...well. She really should have, especially considering how the ice water thing had come about in the first place! "You're not allowed to cheat! How am I supposed to dunk you if you can use your stupid magic powers?"

Where the hell was Grogu when she needed him?

Well, that was a perfect opportunity for someone else to cheat for a change, wasn't it? That was the thing about blatantly cheating; it encouraged others to do the same.

So Stark, having seen an opportunity while Anakin was distracted, took that opportunity and ran right up to the target and hit it, grinning all the while.

Anakin couldn't even be mad about that play, it had been masterfully done. He pushed dripping hair out of his eyes and gave Stark and Faye a look. "Fine. We're even now."
