Homecoming Carnival, The Park, Friday

The weather had been kind, and it was just the right amount of cool for a Halloween-themed Homecoming carnival. The booths and activities were ready for visitors, and the Halloween decorations and spooooky music playing everywhere aimed to set the right kind of mood for everyone.

Yes, there was also black and orange glitter everywhere, because of course there was. Feel free to take some home with you, because it's going to be difficult not to!

And that was where the ability to just hide in his complaints failed Prompto entirely, and he could feel heat of the glowing blush starting to creep up into his cheek. And if that weren't enough, there was now a lump in his throat that needed to be swallowed down and an unconscious lick of his bottom lip, which then got caught between his teeth.

"I mean," he managed to get out with a sort of hopeless, surrendering gesture toward the sign, "a kiss, I guess..."

Oh, gods, why was this literally just so. awkward. He was pretty sure the last person he'd even kissed was Yang, and that would have been--

--wait. No. Scratch that. It had actually been Ignis.

DAMMIT, this was not helping with the whole blushing thing, like, at all, dammit, Gladio!!

Oh this was just precious. Prompto was lucky -- or maybe unlucky -- that Eliot had a noted thing for awkward nerdy types.

"A kiss," he agreed, with great solemnity, and leaned forward at the waist in preparation. "One for the fair, and one just for you, perhaps?"

Well, if that was Eliot's thing, then maybe he was the lucky one, because he was in the presence of the absolute poster boy for the archetype.

And as he added in that last part, Prompto was pretty much the blush was pretty much going to push all of his freckles right off his face.

"I mean," he said, "if you want..."

And before he could pysch himself out too badly by thinking about why anyone would ever want something like that, he closed his eyes and awkwardly leaned forward almost as if just hoping to just somehow manage to find Eliot's lips somewhere along the way.

Eliot let the awkwardness hang just a moment longer -- a little treat, just for himself -- and had mercy on the poor man and closed the distance.

He kept it light and simple -- they were in public, after all, and it wasn't like Eliot was looking to take Prompto home later -- but soft and with a hint of promise. Then pulled back to check Prompto's reaction.
