Robin was not wearing her Robin Sparkles regalia longer than she needed to. Which was for the obligatory performance.

So, for right now, the wig and graffiti denim jacket were tucked away, and Robin herself, brunette and irritable-looking as ever, was behind the bar and eyeing a bottle of Johnnie Walker.

Like Robin was going to pass up the chance to perform in front of all these rock stars? Well after being very stagefrightened, he went out to do just that.

Robin was obligated to perform, as the hostess. So, it was a blonde, permed Robin Sparkles who took the stage in a denim graffiti coat, a mini-skirt, and leggings.

Don't ask where her backup dancers had come from. She didn't know.

"Come on, Jessica! Come on, Tori!
Let's go to the mall, you won't be sore-y.
Put on your jelly bracelets
And your cool graffiti coat!
At the mall, havin' fun
Is what it's all a-boat."

Robin sighed, mid-dance. "I haven't done my homework yet -- "

"That's okay!" her backup dancers crooned.

"And you know how my parents get -- "

"Whatever!"

"I don't care 'cause all my friends are gonna be there!
Everybody come and play
Throw every last care away
Let's go to the mall....
Today.

There's this boy I like,
Met him at the food court.
He's got hair like Gretzke
and he does jumps on his skateboard.

Yeah, don't ask where the small robot at her feet came from, either. Robin was just going to keep smiling as she sang, instead.

"Dad says I'm too young to date -- "

"Lame."

"That's okay," Robin sang, "I'm gonna rock your body anyway,

And now, the rap. Robin seized the mic, determined to make the best of this.

"I went to the mall with a couple of friends.
I had a whole week's allowance to spend.
I want hoop earrings and a Benetton shirt.
We came here to shop and we came here to flirt.
I turned around and who should I see?
Prime Minister Brian Mulrooney.
He said, "Young lady I don't approve."
So I had to get down and bust a très sweet move!

Let's go to the mall everybody!"

And dance sequence, which she did while smiling and not sulking, in spite of herself, before picking up the chorus again.

"Everybody come and play

Today.

With a quick bow, Robin skittered off the stage, ripping off the blonde wig as soon as she was out of sight.

The lights dim on the stage as the Lornettes swoop in slowly. A spotlight falls down on the green figure on the stage, his face a mask of pure emotion.

The bands begin to play a sad tune but with brave undertones underneath

The Lornette's began to move their feet quickly in time with Lorne as he donned a sparkly glove and began some fancy dance moves. Occasionally there was a crotch grab and a "WOOO!"

Jem and the Holograms got up on stage, dressed in outfits that were even more fabulous than the ones they were wearing this morning.

Louis had given his violin to his son some weeks in the past, but that didn't mean he had come emptyhanded. His current model was a deep blue electric violin, the bow light in his hands as he took the stage. There was no one else there with him, no accompaniment recorded or ready to play from the speakers. He was for the moment just a man with his instrument.

Louis just couldn't help himself.

Regardless of the irony, the performance was transcendent, the music flowing through the air, into the ears and straight to the blood. It made you want to dance, to scream, to shout, to be wicked in all the best kind of ways. Accompanied by a chorus of damned souls, he kept the effects as subtle as he could, but he was who he was and it was so very much fun, after all.

It depended on how you were going to define 'rocking' and 'socks', really.

On the upside, Lister seemed utterly and truly invested in his own ability as a master guitarist. On the second upside, he wasn't singing.

On every other side, he was by far the worst guitarist who had ever lived, and his guitar was so out of tune it might as well have come from a different solar system.

Those poor, poor eardrums.
