Robin was not wearing her Robin Sparkles regalia longer than she needed to. Which was for the obligatory performance.

So, for right now, the wig and graffiti denim jacket were tucked away, and Robin herself, brunette and irritable-looking as ever, was behind the bar and eyeing a bottle of Johnnie Walker.

Dinah ordered a Diet Coke while she waited for the various people she'd texted to show up, and hummed in anticipation. Music! Woo!

Jill looked around with huge eyes as she approached the bar and Dinah. When she got there, she said, "Okay, I know I've been a total mal recluse, but did I like miss something, or are there a ton of new people here?"

"It's Rock Con!" Dinah said, which might or might not have been helpful, given the noise level and the pun in the name. "Tons of performers tonight!"

"Uh-hunh! It started last night, goes through tomorrow," Dinah said, straining to be heard over the noise. "There were panels today, I didn't make it to any, but they were talking about the music biz, from what I understand. Fiona's dad and her brother are both playing here tonight."

Jill didn't care much about the music industry, so she doubted the panels would interest her, but live music was kind of cool. But, "Who's Fiona?"

Dinah pointed down the bar to the girl coming over. "Fiona Post. She's new this session, she's going to be a sophomore." And how to explain anything about Fiona without getting into secrets or too much weirdness? "She's studying swords too. A little jumpy and shy, she was homeschooled before here."

Fiona took a seat next to Dinah and ordered herself a bourbon manhattan.

"And how has your day been?"

"Good! Quiet, aside from meeting up with your family," Dinah said, sipping her drink. "Catching up on my last romance novel." And maybe a few chapters of The Book. "I figured I did enough running this week to deserve the day off. How about you, how are things with your dad and Eliot going?"

"Was my family not-quiet?" she asked with a faint smirk.

She took a sip as soon as her drink was delivered, enjoying the faint burn even if she couldn't taste it.

"Things are going good. Eliot's going to go record stuff with Peyton tomorrow."

Dinah stuck out her tongue at her, and said, "Cool. Oh, does Peyton know Shilo? I was telling her she should talk to her about her music too. She's got an awesome voice... How long are your brother and father staying here?"

Out of his presence, weirdly, the idea of Louis made Dinah more nervous than his actual person did.

"I don't know if they know each other. I don't know her very well either, though, so that might be weird."

Another sip and a soft smile.

"They're just here for the convention, so they're gone on Sunday. I do kind of wish my brother could stick around. I really have to get them to transfer him here sometime."

"I've only talked to Peyton a couple times. Maybe I'll e-mail her about it, since we never seem to be in the same places." Dinah perched her chin on her hand. "Do you think they'd agree to that?"

"Hey, Dinah," Triela said as she approached the bar. There was an odd tension to her, but that was probably due to all the alcohol nearby. "What is all this?"

"Rock Con! Music convention," Dinah explained, beaming brilliantly. "Free concert with all the musicians in town. I thought you'd like a sampler of music types to enjoy."

"Not sure about that, but I know there's at least two violinists," Dinah offered, then nodded over to Fiona. "Her dad and her brother are here to play, and I've heard tapes of her brother's music, he's really really good."

Dinah looked at one of the program lists on the bar, and said, "Her dad's on pretty early, about fourth or fifth. Her brother's on somewhere in the middle. You might like the other musicians, you never know, right?"
