Glitter encrusted moosen stood guard in the entry to the transformed Town Hall, reminding all those in attendance that the night was about all things Canadian. Or things the Student Council had deemed Canadian - plus a whole lot of glitter.

Sparkly red maple leaves and paper geese hung from irridescent streamers, setting off the food tables as very much separate from the raised dance floor in case the terrifying papier-mâché beaver didn't make it obvious that the timbits were for eating. Or for dunking in the maple syrup fountain. Beyond pure sugar, there were plenty of bite-size portioned food and nonalcoholic beverages to push the theme into the bellies of all, no matter how tight the dresses!

Beyond the dance floor, the shadowy corners glowed with the twinkle of glittery maple leaf garland and a Joni Mitchell inspired moose that had been strategically positioned to look rather tragic in its lyric-covered glory. Yes, glory. For the evening was to be glorious. Or at the very least entertaining.

"I don't know... find the right cut and everything and you'd look pretty bangin'," Kennedy argued, taking the moment to return the inventory favor. "Not to say you don't, 'cause wow. How's school? Everything boring and totally non-rescue-needing, right?"

She paused long enough to take a breath. "It was just Thanksgiving for me, so... basically, I'm enjoying my last month of freedom before I actually go back to school."

"It's all super-boring back home, except my boss is definitely something weird and I should ask him about it," Sookie noted thoughtfully. "It's hard, adjusting to everyone being loud again. People in Fandom are shielded so much better. I came back for Parents' Weekend, too, and it was like a little break for my head. Any random violence going on for you at home, or just school? 'Cause I can bring my sparkly fingers there and kick something's ass, if needed."

"Just school," Kennedy said, making a face. "Zero on the baddie front. Well... there was a thing with a giant rat that we thought might be a demon, but nope, actual giant rat. So, sorry. Nothing to call you in for, yet. You know I will when I need you though, right?"

"Of course. And if I need someone to defenestrate someone," god, she loved that word, "you're my go-to lady. But you should visit anyway," Sookie declared. "I might have everyone down for Christmas again, this year. It's an awful big house. Kinda lonely, by myself."

"I'd love to go," Kennedy said instantly, the grin on her face not in danger of going away. You and your word-of-the-day calendar, Sookie. "The good thing about the time-wonky is that I can do that, and not miss Christmas with my family. Win all around. Okay then, consider my RSVP, um, R'ed."

She hadn't paid that much attention in French classes, okay?

"Plus you get double-presents," Sookie pointed out, and knowing Kennedy, that had to be a plus. "And you can see where I work! It's a bar. It's pretty boring. Maybe no one needs to see it, actually."

"You take away all my fun before I even get to have it," Kennedy said with a sigh... and a grin twitching at the corners of her mouth. "I guess I can deal with that in favor of hanging out for a while, though. I really, really miss you guys."
