Glitter encrusted moosen stood guard in the entry to the transformed Town Hall, reminding all those in attendance that the night was about all things Canadian. Or things the Student Council had deemed Canadian - plus a whole lot of glitter.

Sparkly red maple leaves and paper geese hung from irridescent streamers, setting off the food tables as very much separate from the raised dance floor in case the terrifying papier-mâché beaver didn't make it obvious that the timbits were for eating. Or for dunking in the maple syrup fountain. Beyond pure sugar, there were plenty of bite-size portioned food and nonalcoholic beverages to push the theme into the bellies of all, no matter how tight the dresses!

Beyond the dance floor, the shadowy corners glowed with the twinkle of glittery maple leaf garland and a Joni Mitchell inspired moose that had been strategically positioned to look rather tragic in its lyric-covered glory. Yes, glory. For the evening was to be glorious. Or at the very least entertaining.

"Twenty-nine," she said, completely fine with it being a hugging day. "And yet you still can't legally drink yet, huh?"

She made a face. "I know, I know. My world and Fandom are all boring an in sync."

"Sorry," Jaina said. "How's guardianing?"

She was verbing all sorts of words this weekend.

"Pretty much better than I ever thought it would be," Rose admitted, making a face at how stupid that sounded. "The honeymoon's gotta end sometime, I know, but for now, it's awesome. How's being a badass Jedi?"

"Same old," she shrugged. "Busy. I always feel like I should have stories to tell but..." She wouldn't even know where to start with that. "It's busy."

"Still have that dirt thing going on?" she said, smirking a little.

She nodded. "Yep. Though the island not moving around anymore kind of put a kink in the system," she said.

"Different parts of the island?" Rose suggested.

"But I've already been to Fandom," she explained. "I'm sure he'll get to it when he goes somewhere interesting, and until then, he'll just have a bigger dirt collection."

"I'm never going to stop laughing at you saying that with a straight face," Rose commented.

"Okay, so it's not exactly normal," Jaina conceded. "But it's sort of fun."

"That's the important part," she decided, chuckling a little. "It's - the stuff we do, sometimes the fun part gets long." Shhh, she so wasn't being philosophical or anything there.

"Exactly." She'd see if she still felt that way after the weekend when she actually had to think about stuff, but for now... "And if it makes my friends laugh, well..."

"You figure it's the least you can do, right?" Rose laughed.

"What are friends for?" Jaina asked with a smile.

"Calling to help kill the bad guys," she decided. "Seriously though, this is awesome seeing you without insanity occurring. Though now I probably just jinxed us."

She nodded knowingly. "Pretty much. Does the lack of insanity mean you're bored?" she wondered, remembering her talk with Arthur.

She considered the question for a moment. "Ugh, if I say no, will you think I've gone insane? I mean, I know it'll get boring eventually probably, but now it's just cool to be able to work on keeping Lissa safe and establishing her."

"I won't think that at all," Jaina promised. "Sometimes you need the break, if nothing else."

"Exactly," Rose agreed. "It's just nice not to worry about everything falling to pieces for a little bit."
