Originally, this was going to be a much smaller event, but then Fandom had to be Fandom and Portalocity had to be Portalocity, and now Zoe was wondering if there would be enough food for everyone or if she'd have to get things from the local restaurants.

For the moment though, everything was set up nicely. There were tables and chairs set up with blue and gold tablecloths, each covered with glitter from years of use. There were balloons, streamers, and other slightly tasteful decorations, also covered in glitter from years of being stored with things that were also covered in glitter. Don't worry, no one had died from a glitter overdose yet.

Once the food was set out and the (non-tainted) punch was ready, it seemed like things were as good to go as they'd ever be. If things got too crowded, hopefully a fire marshal wasn't among the folks who had come back to town.

"I have to be Blossom to fly or hover. You guys don't have to do anything."

She leaned in closer to see The Button. "Is it magic or technology? And have you tried it yet?" She was totally not suggesting they try it. Nope.

"Magic. We made it in Faerie and we're not quite ready to try futzing with that advanced tech yet. And no I haven't tried it. Thought about it, but in an uncharacteristic bout of restraint, I resisted the temptation."

"Probably because you don't actually want them here, right? Can you IMAGINE Strider with a gremlin bite?"

"Oh Gods!" Leda giggled. "Maybe he'd think he was David Bowie!" The rumor that Bowie was an Elf was perhaps amusing Leda quite a bit.

"And he'd deny everything when he woke up!"

"David Bowie?" Momoko frowned a moment. "Ah! Jono's talked about him, his music. He's an elf?!"

"No, but there is a rumor going around to that effect. He's got kind of an Elfish look to him. Plus I think he played one in a Jim Henson movie."

"That's..." Momoko hesitated a minute, then started laughing. "Well, I was going to say it was totally crazy, but then I remembered that most of Faerie thinks I'm an elf."

"Not exactly an Elf. But definitely some kind of Fae. Some Eastern Nature Spirit maybe."

"Ooooh!" Momoko had never really cared as long as she was accepted. "Even better! Do I change into a dragon?!"

"Not that I've heard, but I can work that into the story if you want." Leda laughed.

"Better not; the Matriarch may not like the lie," she chuckled. "Besides, that's a lot to live up to when all I can do it fly and hit things!"

"Well you've got that yo-yo thing. I've tried one of those in a toy store, I'm never gonna underestimate someone who can work one of those things."

"I couldn't do it at all before I started being Blossom. It came with the powers," Momoko chuckled. "But I didn't like not knowing how, so I learned on my own, too. I can only do the basic regular tricks when I'm not Blossom."

She stuck her tongue out at her friend. "Again, unlike you guys who can do your stuff without having to change."

"This may not make any difference, but it's nothing special to us. To us, all this technology shit is incredible. You have blenders! Airplanes! I can hover, that's it. I wanna fly, I gotta hitch a ride with Ember. You can do it on your own."

"Aren't we a pair? And yet I bet we wouldn't trade for a minute." Momoko laughed. "Next time I come to Faerie, I'll bring Jaime along. If we tell him that blenders don't work, he will totally spend hours trying to find out why."

"Never really had much ambition to be a superhero." Leda admitted. "But I bet you'd be great as a Queen." Not that she'd wish such a fate on her best friend.

"Oh is Jaime a gadget man? Who knows, maybe he'd figure it out. Probably something obvious we'll all kick ourselves over for missing."

"He's more of a 'how does it work - let's take it apart and see' man," Momoko snickered. "But if it gets me more time in Faerie and Bordertown with you guys, I'm totally willing to let him litter my rooms with blender parts."

"Now you have both magic and technology on your world?"

Momoko nodded, nibbling on a mini-cupcake. "I don't know much about it. Jaime's ex-girlfriend Traci is a magic-user, though, and a few criminals. If I understand right, you can learn some kinds of magic in our world? I think it's like cooking. If you don't have a talent for it then you can only do as good as the recipe and the equipment you use."

"Has anyone managed to, dunno, combine the two?"

"I.... I have no idea." She thought a moment. "I'll have to ask. Sorry."

"No problem. Mostly just curiosity. Come to think of it, I guess charging the ray-gun Triela...left me," her voice caught a bit there, "with magic seems to be doing just that."

"Mmm true!" Ah! Speaking of! "Have you seen Triela? She's here! They let her come!"

"Yes! I saw her at Chilly Boulder earlier! Made me doubly glad I talked Strider into letting me come."
