Prom, Community Center, Friday Evening

It was possible that the strange creatures that had invaded Fandom last week were still on everyone's mind when the Student Council had designed the decorations for Prom. Glittery cardboard animal-hybrid monsters awaited everyone as they arrived to the community center, and made their way inside along a blue and yellow carpet flanked by glowing, glittery red eyes.

Nothing in the decorations looked like a rabbit though. Some memories were just too much to make fun of.

"Mostly just remembering that the three Fandom Food Groups are monotony, insanity, and glitter," Kanan replied. "Sometimes all in succession."

And yes, this was followed by a vain attempt to wipe a fleck of the sparkly stuff off of his sleeve.

"We've had the last two already this week," Hera said. "Does that mean we get monotony next?"

She could handle monotony - she could always go do a smuggling run if it got too bad.

"I could live with that," Kanan sighed. "A healthy dose of monotony..."

He wrinkled his nose.

"Let it be known that I, Kanan Jarrus, actually want some damn monotony in my life for a change. That's new."

"Well, at least it means you're not predictable?" Hera said, grinning.

"There is that," Kanan agreed with a laugh and a shake of his head. "But then again, I suppose anyone would want a little bit of monotony after being attacked by snipes in an underground maze."

His weekend. What even had that been?

"I'm still not clear on what a snipe is," Hera said. "And no, I'm not sure I really want to be. 'Nasty' is good enough for me to steer clear."

"Then we'll go with that," Kanan decided. "Snipes are nasty. But surprisingly satisfying to pick off one-by-one with a blaster."

He'd do that again anytime.

They were semi-sentient. Any decent Jedi probably should have had some kind of reprimand at the ready for occasions like this.

Kanan was really not a decent Jedi.

"They're little pests," Hera said firmly. She sighed. "Okay, I don't really want them all dead. But controlled would be nice. Unfortunately, the sorts of people who have them around tend to mostly be pests themselves."
