Prom, Community Center, Friday Evening

It was possible that the strange creatures that had invaded Fandom last week were still on everyone's mind when the Student Council had designed the decorations for Prom. Glittery cardboard animal-hybrid monsters awaited everyone as they arrived to the community center, and made their way inside along a blue and yellow carpet flanked by glowing, glittery red eyes.

Nothing in the decorations looked like a rabbit though. Some memories were just too much to make fun of.

Cardboard cutouts of drop bears, adorable teal animals, and other totally not real things awaited everyone inside. The glitter adorning each decoration made this all still romantic, right?

Dante didn't quite care about whether anything was romantic or not; he arrived at the prom looking pleased with himself, wearing a long red coat, black skinny jeans, and a black vest just short enough that it was pretty clear it was meant to be worn with a shirt Dante wasn't actually wearing.

He was hiding the booze on the inside of the coat, thank you.

Hyacinthe didn't quite know what 'prom' was, other than a fete, but who was he to pass up an opportunity to party? He was dressed in his traditional bright colors as befitted the Prince of Travellers, though of a far more modern cut, and in a mood to dance and laugh the night away.

...So, no real change then.

The decorations earned a raised eyebrow from him as he came in and he made note to tell Phedre of them at some point. Perhaps Cereus House needed a suggestion for the next Midwinter Masque?

For a lot of reasons, Kathy had never expected to attend a Fandom prom ever again. But Anders had asked and so here she was, wearing one of the gowns she'd bought in indecision over her own senior prom and had never gotten to wear.

Anders had brought her a senior prom last year out in LA. Now he was sharing his with her as well. If it wouldn't ruin her makeup, Kathy would have gotten a little weepy. Clearly the only thing to do was focus on how happy she was instead.

Ada had gone with classic Kiss-A-Carnie reds for her dress this time, the bright red she loved so much fluttering out from under the burgundy overlayer, and her skin shimmering with the gold and bronze glitter she'd used to camouflage her scales. Her hair was pulled-back enough to keep it out of her face, but otherwise she'd just let her curls run wild and do as they pleased.

It was a night to dance and party, and Ada was planning to enjoy every moment of it.

Pinkie squealed when she saw the decorations. She loved her a good theme party and this looked like a hoot and a half! She was almost sad her own outfit wasn't more cryptidesque.

Tip wasn't super sure how welcome she'd be as a freshman, but hey, she'd helped plan this shindig, right? And she had to wear the red satin suit she'd found somewhere.

Besides, J.Lo would cry if she told him she'd skipped it.

Given its length (or rather, lack thereof) Isabela's dress wasn't really deserving of the name. Long expensive singlet maybe?

Regardless, it fitted her like a glove, a very short glove.

Lucille arrived dressed in the red dress she usually wore on these occasions. She had been asking herself why she kept going to events like this, but she was here.

Lucille was never going to admit that the reason she was here was that she felt lonely.

Jalian was here. She wasn't as interested in this one as last year, but she was here. She was wearing loose silk pants and a cropped top in white, her hair done up in multiple braids.

Ahsoka wasn't really sure why she was here, but as ways to wind down after class (Thanks, Anakin.), she'd already meditated enough for one day and it beat brooding alone.

The food was a very normal spread, but the (not initially spiked) punch had a kind of adorable surprise sitting inside the bowl.

Dance Floor [Prom 2017]

No one put glitter on the dance floor, it just sort of ended up inevitably settling along the floor. Still, that was no reason not to enjoy the music!

Hey, it wasn't like Kanan had anything better to do on a Friday night. Besides, he got to bring a date? This clearly meant he had to haul Hera along to take in all the... wonder... and...

The glitter. He was dragging her along to take in the glitter. There were just some Fandom experiences that were important, okay?

Besides that, though, he was mostly just turning a strategic blind eye to the punch bowl. Wasn't like he was going to complain if it wound up spiked, here.

Hannibal was looking rather pleased. Not to be here - it was a party he could take or leave - but because he'd done a very good job coaxing Jono into a striking outfit, so he had a very good view this evening.

He was still the best-dressed person here, though.

Eliot was perfectly happy to chaperone the prom. He had such nice memories of it, after all. He was a bit more casual than he'd been two years ago, rocking more of a hip young archeology professor thing (no seriously, it was what he wore when he was playing a hip young archeology professor back in Portland).

Which felt weirdly appropriate for this year's theme, somehow.
