Prom, Community Center, Friday Evening

It was possible that the strange creatures that had invaded Fandom last week were still on everyone's mind when the Student Council had designed the decorations for Prom. Glittery cardboard animal-hybrid monsters awaited everyone as they arrived to the community center, and made their way inside along a blue and yellow carpet flanked by glowing, glittery red eyes.

Nothing in the decorations looked like a rabbit though. Some memories were just too much to make fun of.

"You're always a fine sight, t' be sure," Ada promised, leaning in to give him a quick peck on the cheek. "...I got a flask in this dress, should we get th' party started or wait for Frank t' do his thing?"

"... I don't feel like waiting," Dante said, nudging his coat aside so she could see his bottle too.

Ada just laughed. "That th' stuff you made in class yesterday?" she asked, reaching out to tap the bottle. "You done a taste-test yet?"

"One or two, but I'm saving the rest for the party next week," Dante said, grinning.

He held the bottle up to the light.

It was sparkly.

Of course it was.

"Oh, that's pretty," she said admiringly. "Does it taste as good as it looks?"

Ada, you like carnie gin. Any booze tastes good to you.

"Definitely does."

If you liked enough sugar that it'd blow your tonsils off, yes. Dante held out the bottle for her.

Well, it was Ada. She'd grown-up considering cotton-candy an acceptable lunch.

She took the flask and unscrewed the lid, raising it in a toast before taking a shot.

"Oh, that's gonna keep people awake all night," she laughed, licking her lips before passing it back to him. "Get tipsy an' a sugar high at th' same time. I like it."

"Right?"

Dante wiggled his eyebrows. "We should set a date for our big party. I'm thinking sugar and glitter style, but badass."

"Lots of red an' black?" Ada teased. "'M sure we can manage something, depending on when you're headin' out on your adventure."

At least it was getting warm enough for the warehouses not to be a terrible idea!

"Red and black, yeah," Dante said. "Maybe warehouse again after all?"

"'S got th' room," Ada mused. "An' it's easy t' get to..."

"Not as easy as in th' dorms, but we can make more noise."

"We should get some mattresses and shit out there," Dante mused. "Pick one of the ones with an upper floor."

"See, this is why you plan th' best parties. We can scout locations an' get some ice cream this weekend maybe?" Ada suggested. "We'll have a better idea how t' decorate once we know how big th' space is."

"... I dig it," Dante said, tilting his head. "Let's do that. Figure out which place works best."

Ada grinned at him. "Can't think of a better way t' spend m' first weekend as a graduate," she decided, "--than plannin' a party."

Oh Ada. Just wait.
