Parents Weekend Meet & Greet, Friday Afternoon

It was one of those insufferably nice seasonal afternoons, the type Fandom only broke out for major events: the temperature was charmingly brisk, the trees an autumnal red-and-yellow, and birds sang their merry fall songs in the trees - when they weren't tussling with the squirrels.

A glittery banner hung over the entrance to the park, drawing in all newcomers:

"I am, thank you." Arallt grinned back. Sidon's enthusiasm, as promised, was infectious. "I'm very pleased to meet you. And that at least one of Lana's friends here is easy to identify. You teach now too, don't you?"

"Indeed, I do!" Sidon confirmed, squaring his shoulders and pulling up his height just that little bit more with pride. "For a few semesters now, actually! Mostly the history and legend of my homeworld, Hyrule, because that is a font of fascination and wonder that I do hope never runs out, but this summer I also dabbled a little in some arts and crafts and other aquatic arts, and I quite enjoyed that, I must say! And what about yourself, Arallt? What is it that you do? And what is your own personal connection with our dear mutual friend Lana?"

"I head the Alliance she helped begin," Arallt answered to both questions. "She's a good friend. What is Hyrule like?" he asked, unaware of the danger he might be in, asking such a question.

"Ahhhh," Sidon sighed for a moment, a fond and wistful sigh, before his expression blossomed into an eager, toothy grin. "Hyrule is a wonderful, vast land of great beauty and a rich, deep history that is, unfortunately, plagued by a horrible Calamity. Of course, I may be a bit biased, because it is indeed my home, but I am not sure words can truly describe how magnificent it is! In fact," here, he chuckled a little, "it usually takes me a full semester to even begin to convey to my students all the wonders it holds within its wilds and civilizations! Should you ever have the opportunity to visit, I highly recommend it, although be forewarned, it is not without its dangers! Many years ago, a terrible evil descended upon my world, nearly destroying it. The evil, however, has been kept at bay...for now, though no one truly knows when that evil may break free from its restrains and finish the job it set out to accomplish nearly one hundred years ago...."

Arallt was used to Dr. Oggurobb; he could do this all day.

He did have other things to do, though, so he eventually spoke up. "It does sound wonderful. I hope I get a chance to visit some day."
