Three Minute Dates- Caritas- Saturday until 8:15 pm

Caritas sort of looked like a Party City threw up, because Tino had offered to do the decorating. Of course there were balloons, streamers, glitter though it was hard to tell where it was supposed to have come from, confetti on the tables, and a butcher block banner up over the stage with "THREE MINUTE DATES" written in what was maybe paint? It sort of looked like puff paint but that had to be way too much work, right? Right?

A couple minutes before 8:00, Kitty took the stage with the zombies playing her on, and she shushed them to stop. "Hello and welcome to another Three Minute Dates!" she greeted them. "You know how this goes, unless you don't. Your names will be called into pairings every three minutes. You get together, you talk, the buzzer sounds, you go to your next table. If three minutes isn't enough time, maybe hang around a little, scope them out at the bar. And if you hate it, you just have to last five sets of three minutes, I believe in you."

She wasn't sorry if Tino signed any of you up. She was sorry for the letter banner he'd strung up over the bar reading "Have Good Banging," which was terrible English and odds were excellent that it did not stay up all night.

"For the most part," Lana agreed. "Also time seems to be moving more quickly here than back home, so for as long as that lasts, I can get more done faster. What's your project, if you don't mind saying?" She asked, like the research nerd she was.

"Time moves more quickly?" Thor repeated. He wondered if that was why they'd heard sweet fuck-all about Don's license, but--no. When Don had had that appointment, the dates had aligned. He made a mental note to encourage Don to call again next week, and moved along.

"It is...a complicated matter," he said. "In my universe, Asgard--my realm--and her people were destroyed. I am tasked with restoring it, but I know not how to begin."

Lana nodded. "We've had a lot of people back home starting over after the previous war. But from what you're saying, I'm guessing it's not just a matter of finding a place to settle down."

"No," Thor said with a shake of his head. "Nothing as simple as that. Asgard must be made anew, her people found and gathered home. It will be a long work, but first...I must find where simply to begin." No big, y'know. "Until then, this island is a good place to be, I have found."

Lana nodded. "It is a good place. Accepting and helpful, but not too boring. Is there something different about Asgard's people from others? A genetic marker or something you could use to track them?"

The sound that ended the round meant that Thor would be getting up from the table immediately after telling Lana, "They're all dead," so...that was awkward.

Definitely awkward. Oops. But now Lana was mostly confused, since he'd said he needed to find them.

Probing further seemed imprudent, though, so she just stood herself and nodded to him. "My apologies. I wish you the best of luck."
