Three Minute Dates- Caritas- Saturday until 8:15 pm

Caritas sort of looked like a Party City threw up, because Tino had offered to do the decorating. Of course there were balloons, streamers, glitter though it was hard to tell where it was supposed to have come from, confetti on the tables, and a butcher block banner up over the stage with "THREE MINUTE DATES" written in what was maybe paint? It sort of looked like puff paint but that had to be way too much work, right? Right?

A couple minutes before 8:00, Kitty took the stage with the zombies playing her on, and she shushed them to stop. "Hello and welcome to another Three Minute Dates!" she greeted them. "You know how this goes, unless you don't. Your names will be called into pairings every three minutes. You get together, you talk, the buzzer sounds, you go to your next table. If three minutes isn't enough time, maybe hang around a little, scope them out at the bar. And if you hate it, you just have to last five sets of three minutes, I believe in you."

She wasn't sorry if Tino signed any of you up. She was sorry for the letter banner he'd strung up over the bar reading "Have Good Banging," which was terrible English and odds were excellent that it did not stay up all night.

Oh, and now Belle was definitely getting a look from Stewart from across the room. But this was, as it were, the light of the end of the tunnel, and so he pulled out his chair, gave an almost respectable nod to Hannibal, and took his seat.

"And the end," he declared, "is finally in sight."

Hannibal smirked. "Not a productive evening for you, then?"

"I suppose that depends," said Stewart, leaning forward on the table a little as he let his eyes roam and wander over the last of the arrangements, with perhaps a moment spared or a regrettable sigh, and he continued once his gaze settled back on the man across the table from him now, "on your perspective on it. Perhaps an...unexpected intrigue or two along the way, but unfortunately not any directions in which I would have hoped for the evening to have been steered. But, well, you know what they say, about mice and men....what of yourself? Did you find this exercise in rapid-fire chit-chat to yield more...fruitful results?"

"Nothing outright, but I remain hopeful," Hannibal answered. "And if nothing else, as you said, it's almost over. How is your art going lately?"

Stewart looked at Hannibal as if he was trying to parse exactly what his angle was with a question like that before reluctantly giving an answer. With a faint, frustrated sort of sigh.

"Middling at best," he regretted to report. "Inspiration lately has been...sorely lacking. And...you? How is...whatever it is you do?"

Hey, you were getting more from him than mostly everyone before you, Hannibal, so that was...something?

Hannibal shook his head mournfully. "When I find inspiration lacking, I tend to head to Portalocity and find someplace totally different to explore. Though my own art has been going well."

He was particularly inspired by American politics. So many rude people, so little time.

"There are so many worlds out there with so many different norms."
