"I've been better," he said, "honestly. But I've been worse, too. I'm not sure yet."

"It'll take time," Isabel said quietly. "And if you want to spend some of that time with me, you're welcome to it. I still owe you a movie day."

He nodded slowly and maneuvered them in a half-turn. "I'm guessing Parker talked to you about some of what happened?"

"Not a whole lot unfortunately," she admitted. "I've been going nuts with getting ready for this, and then Weiss left. I figure something happened with Phoebe though, between radio and how Bel reacted."

Anders nodded, instead. "Yeah. Well. With the thing possessing her, anyway . . . but that's so not appropriate dance conversation."
