"Sounds like my life. Things just sort of happen." As the music ended, Alanna stepped back and curtsied, a little wobbly. "Sorry for being a bitch at first."

Jack smiled. "Don't worry about it," he said, executing a fairly credible bow. "It was a pleasure dancing with you. Thanks for not bolting. Or kicking my ass."

"Yeah, well, sorry for being so bitchy at first." Alanna almost managed a tiny real smile there.

"You weren't you know. And even if you had been, you were expecting to have to dance with a pervert." With a great deal of effort he kept his visible amusement down to just a smile. "It would have been understandable. Want me to escort you back to Kawalsky?"
