Caritas, Wednesday evening

Jaina still wasn't exactly sure why she had this job, except it got the owner to shut up. And upon finding out there was going to be a wedding reception here (and hey, didn't she meet Deadpool? she had no idea he was married), she really wasn't happy. Regardless, she set up the best she could, considering she'd never seen what a party here was supposed to look like.

She was trying to think of it in terms like "If this doesn't turn me to the dark side, I'm doing pretty good."

Rikku bounced in and waved to her mentor. "Hey! Congratulations!"

This was either a huge, annoying prank, or he really did get married, and either way, she was giddy.

Deadpool twitched a lot. "It wasn't a real marriage!"

"Just because it wasn't legal doesn't mean it wasn't real in your heart, you know," she giggled. "And hey! I pestered Aly, do I get ice cream now?"

"What, this?" Rikku looked around. "Nope-nope. I heard about it, but that's all. So it is a prank thing, then? The reception, I mean."

"You really can't. Or ice cream! Tomorrow, really? I'm holding you to that." Rikku bounced. "And they said you were registered but I couldn't find it so I didn't know what to get you."

"We didn't register anywhere, that's all Aly's doing." He sighed. "I have to admit that she really went all out on this one."

Not that it meant he wasn't going to bring horrible revenge down upon her, just, you know, observing that.

"All that's missing is the bad DJ."

Rikku considered. "The zombies aren't bad. In place of a bad DJ, I mean. And you're kinda hard to shop for, so I totally think the Masamune should still count. I mean, that's a legendary weapon, y'know."

He gave her a pat and grinned. "It works for me." Then added quickly, "Because I'm not married! Not married!"

She only sounded a little like she was reassuring a small child.

"Okay." He nodded. "So we're clear. No marriage."
