Caritas, Wednesday evening

Jaina still wasn't exactly sure why she had this job, except it got the owner to shut up. And upon finding out there was going to be a wedding reception here (and hey, didn't she meet Deadpool? she had no idea he was married), she really wasn't happy. Regardless, she set up the best she could, considering she'd never seen what a party here was supposed to look like.

She was trying to think of it in terms like "If this doesn't turn me to the dark side, I'm doing pretty good."

"Hello," Arashi nodded agian. "Doing okay?" Arashi figured it would be polite to ask.

Anakin stared down into his drink--thank you, Tino--and nodded. "Sure," he said. "And yourself?" He tilted his head at the noise coming from the lounge. "Seems like someone's celebrating..."

There was a momentary panicked look, but Arashi nodded. "Yeah, wedding reception of some sort..."

There was a barely noticeable flinch as Anakin reached for his drink. "I didn't know anyone had gotten married recently," he commented.

"Neither did they," Arashi sighed and drank a good half of his glass of sake.

"At least not at first, found out later that it had been real and not fake," he explained.

"...they accidentally got married?" Anakin said incredulously. "How stupid do you have to be?"

Ah, quite the diplomat, that Anakin.

Arashi flushed. "Pretty stupid, but from what I hear they were being chased by some mobsters and it was the only way not to get caught," he explained and finished his glass. It took a lot of time to build up a tolerance to sake like that.

"I think there's some good things coming out of it. I think they're a real couple now because of it," he smiled slightly. "I think... don't quote me on it."

Anakin looked at Arashi, then at his drink, then finished his drink without a shudder.

"It normally goes the other direction, I've been told," he said, "but I'm hardly an expert on courtship."

"Neither am I honestly."

Especially since he was the one who'd done things backwards. "Still hope that things go okay though."

"Yeah," Anakin said, staring into his empty glass. "Marriage is...quite a thing. Of course, it can all go horribly, cataclysmically, galactically wrong."

He was quite the conversationalist tonight.

"Should put that on a wedding card, it would probably go over really well at this reception," Arashi laughed. He at least thought it would be good and Wade probably would too.

"I don't know if we've ever really been introduced. I'm Arashi," he said and held out his hand.

Anakin shook it. "Anakin Skywalker," he replied, giving Arashi a small smile, "and I'll think about starting up an incredibly inappropriate greeting card company if the teaching thing doesn't work out."

"There is a large employee base here at the school," he pointed out. "Cheap labor too."

"I bet Turtle and Something would sell them, too," Anakin mused, signalling Tino for another refill.

Arashi got one as well. "It would probably make a good secondary income. Teaching doesn't pay too much."

Anakin shrugged. "I wouldn't know what to do with money," he said. "I spent most of my life without any."

"Donate it to charity? School needs rebuilding," he grinned.

Anakin scowled. "Stupid aliens," he muttered. "Though I guess that's probably another card idea."

Arashi nodded. "It should read something like: 'Your school was blown up by aliens. Please send money to rebuild'."

"Would there have to be rhyming?" he asked, wrinkling up his nose and finishing another drink. "There seems to be far too much rhyming in cards."

"You're right, I think it's gotten to the point where they're making up words to get them to rhyme. So I'd say no."

"And nothing good rhymes with 'explosion' anyway," Anakin decided, sulking.

"There are a few, but I don't think they'd work with that," Arashi shrugged and glanced back at the lounge.

"I should get back to the party. It was good talking to you Anakin."

"And you," Anakin said with a nod before looking for another refill.
