Fourth of July BBQ Part 2, Galactica Point, 11 a.m. till ?

Anyone coming down to the beach to enjoy the holiday would find that it's been prepared for the perfect holiday celebration. There's chairs and umbrellas, sand and water toys, food, music, and volleyball nets. Wood has been stacked for a bonfire once the sun goes down and a sign is posted advertising fireworks at 10:00 p.m.

Come celebrate the Fourth of July!

"Having fun?" John asks. "Playing in the water?"

"Just went for a swim," she shrugs. "Nothing important."

"Is the water cold?" John asks. "Do you need warming up?"

The heat's not nearly enough to hurt her, but still, warm. "It's good," she says, hoping he doesn't interpret it wrong. "I'm fine. This is good."

"Okay," he says, frowning briefly. "Want me to get you something to eat?"

She shakes her head. "We can stay here for a while."

"It's not too hot?" He had to ask.

"No," Aeryn assures him. "It's still okay. I'll leave if it's too bad."

"Okay," he says, flopping down on his back on the sand and tucking his arms under his head.

"Comfortable?" she asks, laying out the towel for herself.

"Yep," he says. "Hope I don't burn."

Halfway to sitting down on the towel, Aeryn looks at him, alarmed.

"Sunburn," he clarifies. "From too much sun."

"Oh," she says. "I knew that." No, she didn't.

"I haven't had sunburn around you before?"

"Possibly," she says. "I don't think I've heard it called that before, though."

"Just means the skin gets red and painful," he says. "Unless...you wanna put sunscreen on me?"

"Yep." He tosses the bottle at her.

She catches the bottle, getting to her knees. "Sit up," she says.

He does, almost giddy about her doing this.

She squeezes some of the lotion into her hand to rub onto his shoulders and chest. This would be more fun if it didn't actually smell like sunblock.

"You do this well," he says, closing his eyes and enjoying it.

"It's not as if it's hard," she says, but she does smile a little.
