Anything But White Party - Stark Industries, Friday Night

The ballroom was once again set up for guests at Stark Industries, this time with a decidedly colorful theme for it. Where the color white could reasonably be avoided it was avoided: from the decorations to the lighting, to the food and drinks provided for the guests.

Because no one enjoyed a nice theme more than Tony Stark.

Steve strode across the ballroom and stared up at the new Chihuly chandelier installed over the dance floor. "When I suggested we switch out the art, I meant the kids' paintings," he said, pointing to the new, very colorful, pictures that had been blown up from construction paper size to 5 foot tall show-stoppers. "I still think the pictures of Princess Thor riding on the unicorn wins, though."

"Ah," said Ignis, as he took a moment to shift his attention from the general din of conversation going on over the music, trying to not be a little too overwhelmed, perhaps while also trying to pick out specific voices from the others, and he smiled, nodding to the sound of Steve's, "thank you. I'm also glad to have made it as well. It sounds as though you've got quite the soiree on your hands."

"I think we might've underestimated how much Fandom likes to get dressed up and party," Steve said.

"There are, of course, exceptions to the rule," Ignis mused, "but I've found that most people actually do like to put their best foot forward and enjoy the ease of socialization that such an event can provide. I know I certainly do, and, well, I suppose when you live in a small town where not a great many things happen that aren't immediately thrown into the category of absurd, dangerous, or just plain annoying, a nice simple party can be quite the draw.

"Assuming, of course," he added, because it had to be said, "the island doesn't decide it feels differently and decides to mix things up on us a bit."

"There was a run where we couldn't host a normal party," Steve admitted, "without people turning into their costumes or being teenagers or having a rubber chicken invasion, but the new place has had better luck."

"Well, then," said Ignis, "please know that I am knocking on metaphorical wood that your luck with the new place holds out. I imagine a flock of rubber chickens truly could put a damper on things, indeed."

He would have to admit, he might not have minded the teenagers thing, because at least then he could appreciate again what everyone was wearing.
