Anything But White Party - Stark Industries, Friday Night
The ballroom was once again set up for guests at Stark Industries, this time with a decidedly colorful theme for it. Where the color white could reasonably be avoided it was avoided: from the decorations to the lighting, to the food and drinks provided for the guests.
Because no one enjoyed a nice theme more than Tony Stark.
Steve strode across the ballroom and stared up at the new Chihuly chandelier installed over the dance floor. "When I suggested we switch out the art, I meant the kids' paintings," he said, pointing to the new, very colorful, pictures that had been blown up from construction paper size to 5 foot tall show-stoppers. "I still think the pictures of Princess Thor riding on the unicorn wins, though."

Re: Arrive and Mingle
Rustic. Next thing he might have said was quaint.
"That's the one," she agreed. "Costumes and children looking for candy, though my home is far enough in the woods that's less a concern. As for hosting--" Her breath caught slightly; barely perceptible, unless you were the type to focus closely such things. "It has been--a very long time. Since I last hosted anything of note."
Re: Arrive and Mingle
"Could be an excellent time to dust off those particular skills, then," he mused, a bit softly. "As I said, this island does love a party..."
Re: Arrive and Mingle
"Well, I'd first need to dust off my ballroom," Liliana said, her voice steady, droll even, though some unnamed tension lingered in her body for a moment longer. Though again, surely no one else was aware of that. "And then I can figure out such things like themes and guests lists and menus and the like." A hint of wistfulness, there, gone a matter of moments, sharp and subtle as the kiss of a knife.

It has the hoped for reaction, however. Lili laughed, low and delighted. "Tony has already given me the name of his caterer," she said. "I do believe I'll pass on any chandelier recommendations, however."
Speaking of things that never happened, if Ignis thought that Liliana was standing perhaps a little bit closer, that she had possibly curled into him the tiniest bit during that moment of vulnerability that had never happened, well...he was surely imagining things.

A change in music caught Liliana's ear. "Would you care to dance with me?" she asked suddenly. "I don't know any of these world's dances - or yours either - but I think we could make it work."
Re: Arrive and Mingle
But, of course, once that was out of the way, his attention was entirely on her proposal.
"I would be honored," he said, "and I wouldn't worry too much about it. Here, it's all quite informal, it's more about just feeling the music in unison with your partner. You should have no trouble at all."
Re: Arrive and Mingle
Another moment of listening to the music, tapping her foot in rhythm. She didn't bother heading out to the floor, simply adjusted the way they were standing, one hand sliding into his, the other on his shoulder, and began to sway, bodies close.
