Caritas, Wednesday Evening

Jarod whistled as he opened the bar, to the point where the zombies were elbowing each other in a knowing fashion and Tino kept hoping for some good gossip, which he wouldn't get. When it was quiet, Jarod once again worked on his laptop, closing it when he sensed anyone coming close enough to read the screen.

A sign was posted on the door:

WELCOME TO FANDOM, NEW STUDENTS AND TEACHERS!

"I'm good at keeping secrets." he assured her, smiling. "Is that good?" he asked, pointing to her drink.

"It's fantastic!" She said, lifting the glass, "You should try it, banana daquiri."

"I think I will." he said, ordering one for himself. "That's a flavor of daquieri that never occured to me."

"My friend practically invented it." She told him. "Literally."

"A fan of bannanas?"

"Might even say, he's obsessed with them."

"Was he a monkey?" He was kidding, but this was fandom. It was a possibility.

Rose smirked. "With his ears? You'd have mistaken him for a monkey. But no... he's not. He just loves bananas and potassium."

And if Clark ever realizes they're talking about the Doctor, he will be hard pressed not to giggle next time he sees him.

"Well, potassium is important." Clark said, trying his newly arrived daqueri. "Oh this is good."

"Isn't it?" Rose said more than a mite loopily. "Was skeptical 'bout it at first too but good thing my friend was stubborn about letting me tasting the drink. Been my favorite since."

Clark sometimes envied other people's abilities to get drunk. His metabolism was just too strong for earth alchohol though.

"What was your poison before this?"

"Oh, you know," She waved vaguely, "Regular stuff beer, cocktails. Now, I've included this," she lifted her what? fourth? glass, "and champagne."

"I prefer the tasty ones." Clark said. "Pina Coladas, White Russians and Daquieri's. That sort of thing."

"White Russian, sounds so exotic." And because being a bit drunk makes Rose more than a little flirty, she reached out and touched his glasses, "You really should do without these."

Clark became a bit flustered at that. "Oh, uhm, w-well, I-I've thought, about that lately."

If she'd been a little less tipsy, she would have been mortified but alas...

"You really have pretty eyes."

Aaaaand there goes the blush! "Oh, er, well thank you." He smiled shyly and removed the glasses.

"See, I was right," Rose said, touching his cheeks happily. "You are gorgeous."

Just how red could a Kryptonian turn? Perhaps he'd discover a new superpower.

"W-well thank you. And a-as a matter, matter of factsoareyou."

"Thank you, Mr. Kent." Rose beamed at him. She poked him in the chest. Yep. Rather drunk. When did she become such a lightweight? "Know what's so good 'bout you? You're not going to go swanning off at the first sign of domestic and you're not gonna go assumin' just 'cause something's good for me you'll go and do somethin' without consultin' me. And, and... I don't know what else but it's somefing."

Yes, Rose has some issues.

Clark wasn't sure what she was talking about just now. "That's, that's good yes."

"Oh, don't worry." Rose said, patting him on the cheek. "You're pretty. Pretty and gentlemanly like. Too bad you're not an alien. Or a time traveler. You'd be perfect."

Clark choked on his drink.

*cough!* "No, no not an alien." he assured her. "I am from 1981 though."

Rose shoved him on the arm and giggled. "Oh, go on, you're havin' me on!"

Clark chuckled. "No, no I really am. It suprised me when I found out about the time difference myself."
