Caritas, Wednesday evening

Jaina still wasn't exactly sure why she had this job, except it got the owner to shut up. And upon finding out there was going to be a wedding reception here (and hey, didn't she meet Deadpool? she had no idea he was married), she really wasn't happy. Regardless, she set up the best she could, considering she'd never seen what a party here was supposed to look like.

She was trying to think of it in terms like "If this doesn't turn me to the dark side, I'm doing pretty good."

"Maybe?" His eye glinted with mischief.

"Oh do tell," she said, leaning in.

He raised an eyebrow. "Now wouldn't that defeat the purpose?" he asked.

"You already said you weren't going to abuse it," she pointed out. "So you might as well share the idea."

"Maybe I was trying to deceive you," he suggested with a smirk.

"And you'd point it out if you were?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Would I?" he asked her, leaving it up to her to make up her mind.

She tapped her lip with her forefinger. "Nah, soldier, not that sneaky."

"Funny how you keep insisting I'm not just a soldier, but when it comes down to it..." he shrugged and leaned back in his chair.

"Don't I get to see subtleties?" she asked teasingly.

"Or maybe you're just saying whatever suits you best at the time," he teased back.

"Possibly," she said, quirking an eyebrow. "Or maybe you'd just like to hope that's the case."

Roy chuckled. "That's a whole lot of maybes for one conversation, miss Alianne."

"Spy, General Mustang," she reminded him laughing. "We like gray areas."

"Corporal," he corrected. "And trust me, I haven't forgotten what you are. Even if I wasn't aware that decorating is part of a spy's skills."

Aly laughed both at the correction and statement. "Bit of this, bit of that. Jack of all trades. So, should I teach a class on parties next term? Less worrying than explosives for you."

"I don't know," he said thoughtfully, considering her. "Would I get invited?"

"Would it make a difference in your decision?" she asked, watching him.

"Yes," he grinned. "Especially if there'd be an opportunity to dance."

"I like a man who can dance," she said nonchalantly. "I'll see what I can do."

"As long as it's actual music," Roy added quickly and picked up his glass to take a sip.

She laughed. "All these conditions! What's a girl to do?"

Roy grinned at her. "You'd get a dance out of it," he pointed out.

"Hmmm," she teased. "That might possibly be enough."

"Might?" he raised an eyebrow, then smirked at her as he leaned towards her a little. "I'd make it worth it," he assured her.
