Town Hall, Tuesday, November 13, Evening

Wyatt had been prepared for the sight of several flu victims, but he didn't expect it to be this bad. He counted at least 15 beds, and who knew if the people tending to them would get sick as well. He conferred briefly with Dr. Troy to find out what procedures they had in place, grabbed a mask, and got to work.


[ooc: Christian modded without permission! I will be AFK for an hour and a half or so, so clinic volunteers, please keep an eye on patients and new arrivals if you don't mind. She coughed suddenly, chest going into a massive spasm, and the rash that had disappeared began retracing itself quickly and visibly along her arms and chest. Her hand tightened on Chris' for a moment, then let go as both hands went to her head to try and keep it from splitting down the middle.

"What happened?" she whispered between coughing jags, her voice quivering with her fear. "I was fine a minute ago. I swear I was."

"I don't know," Chris said, easing her back on to the bed and pulling the blankets up over her. "But you are definitely not leaving this bed."

She didn't object this time, just curled up into the covers and reached for his hand once more. "I'm scared, Chris," she said quietly.

"It'll be okay," he promised. "I'll do some research and see what I can find out, okay?"

She nodded and went off into another coughing jag that left her pale and gasping for breath. She pulled the covers up around her neck, shivering helplessly. "So cold..."

"I'm going to find you another blanket," Chris said, squeezing her hand gently before letting it go. "I'll be right back."

He tried finding a nurse to pester for a few minutes and then decided to just orb back to the dorms to grab the warmest blanket he owned. He orbed back and covered Lana with it.

"Here, honey, this should help."

Lana smiled up at him. "You're calling me honey," she said. "I like it." She snuggled in under the blanket. "This is much better. Thanks."

"You're welcome," he said, a little sheepish. "Are you sure you don't want tea or soup or something?"

"Maybe some tea?" she suggested. "My throat hurts a lot."

"Okay," he nodded. "I'll be right back."

He orbed out again and returned a few minutes later with a steaming cup of tea. "Here," he said, fitting a straw in the cup and holding it in front of her. "You should be able to sip it easily. Just be careful, it's hot."

Lana took a few careful sips, then stopped, her face looking almost green. "Chris, gonna be..." She covered her mouth with her hand trying to hold it in till she could find somewhere to be sick.

Chris managed to spot a trash can not far away and orb it over to himself. He held it in front of Lana, hopefully in time.

Lana threw up violently into the trash can, shaking all over. When her stomach had settled down somewhat she leaned back against her pillow with a low moan and put one hand up to try to hide the tears in her eyes.
