Town Hall, Tuesday, November 13, Evening

Wyatt had been prepared for the sight of several flu victims, but he didn't expect it to be this bad. He counted at least 15 beds, and who knew if the people tending to them would get sick as well. He conferred briefly with Dr. Troy to find out what procedures they had in place, grabbed a mask, and got to work.

"I'm not asking to share a bed with you, don't worry," Sam said. "But I brought something for you that's kind of along that line, in case you get cold again." Reaching into the bag, Sam pulled out one of his shirts, and offered it to Dawn.

Sam tried to keep his expression neutral while he got more worried on the inside. "Do you want me to see if I can find you more blankets? Or bring you something? I can get you whatever you need."

"Another blanket might be good?" She said, hugging the shirt to her in lieu of Sam. Mmmm, boyfriend shirt. "And a book? Or three?"

"I'll see who's willing to cough up another blanket. Um, no pun intended," Sam said. "As for the books..." He picked up the bag again and deposited two books on the bed. "I just grabbed the two that were closest on your side of the room."

Sam noticed the shivering, and couldn't hide his worry this time. "I'll be cashing in those big points the next time I get sick," he said lightly.

Even though she knew better, she hugged him and leaned up against him. He was safe and secure and solid, and warm, and he wasn't sick. "I'm being a baby."

She started coughing again, followed by shivering. She closed her eyes and mumbled, "I'm ready for it to be okay now."

Sam felt Dawn relaxing, and let her go, laying her back down on the bed. "Just rest, and I'll be right here."

She pulled the blankets over her, shivering from chills and hot at the same time, but managed to fall fitfully asleep.

Once Dawn was asleep, Sam sank back in his chair, sighing. He'd get her the blanket he promised soon, but for now, he was just going to watch her and make sure she got her rest.
