Parents' Weekend Meet & Greet, Town Park [Friday Afternoon]

Barney was smart and had purposefully blocked all outgoing mail from Fandom to his New York City (sorry, no luck for you, Robin) and so could blissfully oversee the gathering of guests, students, teachers, and townies happening in the park. The day was bright and sunny, regardless of what any weather reports might claim.

The Student Council had done a nice job getting things together to greet the visitors. A wide variety of sumptuous food was spread out on long tables at one end of the park. In the center were plenty of comfortable blue and gold tables and chairs perfect for sitting, chatting, and eating. To the other end of he park was the registration table where visitors could sign in and pickup their name tags.

Just above the registration area was a gaudy banner announcing the start of a calm and relaxing weekend. Okay, a weekend where Barney got a lot of popcorn to listen to radio.
Welcome to Parents' Weekend 2009!

Ah! So much love was in the air that Bow smiled at the siblings embrace and hugged his arms around the two for just a moment. "Now that the hello's are out of the way, I shall retire to the information booth and leave the two of you to catch up."

"Don't do anything I wouldn't do."

"Thank you, Bow," Adora told him in serene tones. "I promise we'll meet up with you later." That settled, she looked back at her brother and squeezed his arm. "Someone's been working out while I've been away."

"There's no hiding anything from you, Adora," Adam said. "Cringer blames my secret spice bread recipe. And you'll be happy to know, I brought a loaf along with me."

"Why, that's excellent news, brother," Adora laughed, voice going deadpan. "Spirit will be thrilled to hear I'm going to gain five pounds of spice bread!"

Adam laughed with her. "Just don't tell him it's my doing! I get enough grief from my own fearful steed. Where is Spirit, anyway?"

"The stables," Adora supplied. "I've discovered he often startles the people here and it turns out Spirit is perfectly happy to relax with the other horses while I'm in classes. He said something about resting while he had the chance, whatever that means."

Adam had no clue. "Huh. In any case, it's just you and me, sis! And boy has it been a long time!" He puffed his chest importantly in preparation for his next inquiry, "Where's that young suitor or yours Bow was telling me about?"

"Umm," Adora didn't know how to explain what had happened with Edward. "He went home. It was very sad for me, but he is happy there. Fruit cup?"

Well, if that wasn't the perfect distraction, who knew what was!

Grinning sneakily, Adam lifted an eyebrow. "You know I can't resist a fruit cup, Adora. Let's go!" And off they went in search of food.
