Parents' Weekend Meet & Greet, Town Park [Friday Afternoon]

Barney was smart and had purposefully blocked all outgoing mail from Fandom to his New York City (sorry, no luck for you, Robin) and so could blissfully oversee the gathering of guests, students, teachers, and townies happening in the park. The day was bright and sunny, regardless of what any weather reports might claim.

The Student Council had done a nice job getting things together to greet the visitors. A wide variety of sumptuous food was spread out on long tables at one end of the park. In the center were plenty of comfortable blue and gold tables and chairs perfect for sitting, chatting, and eating. To the other end of he park was the registration table where visitors could sign in and pickup their name tags.

Just above the registration area was a gaudy banner announcing the start of a calm and relaxing weekend. Okay, a weekend where Barney got a lot of popcorn to listen to radio.

Having chosen to leave the twins to their own special greeting, Bow wandered off to locate his name badge. He stuck it importantly to the golden shoulder armor covering his bare chest and smiled at all the locals. "Good day, friends! I have returned!"

...this was gonna get on his nerves soon enough, but considering what had happened just months before, Aaron would handle it.

'Dallas' was her usual bubbly, bouncy self, of course, but every once in a while she'd breathe out, long and low, and glance over at him. They'd talked, of course; it wasn't that she was ignoring him. But she was the type to harp, in her own way, and even he had to admit that she had something to harp on.

"Do you think she'll be happy to see us?" Dallas worried as she glanced around for her name tag.

Aaron shrugged, hefting the box in his hands for a moment before he nodded.

"Brought her something. And she's a good kid."

Dallas agreed with a nod, then gave another one of those sighs as she reached out to grab his name tag and stick it on him. Suffice to say, Aaron wasn't pleased but he'd allow it.

At a completely different time, Eliot walked up to the table and looked over the names. They had both been pretty sure that their mother hadn't intended on coming, but he couldn't help himself from checking the tags himself. Satisfied after a few minutes, he picked up the tag that bore his own name and patted it on.

Quatermaine was a little wary of putting on a nametag, but after a few moments, found his own and slapped it on.

Don't mind Daxter. He was somewhere-around-two-feet of orange fur and attitude, giving the name tags some uneasy looks, and bent on giving anyone at the registration table a hard time over them, too.

"You got any idea what it's like to try and wear those things on fur? I got my rights, too! What've you got in the way of, I don't know, maybe a sash? I'll wear a sash, if it's got my name on it. That's Daxter. That's not too much for you to handle spelling out with your funny squiggly alphabet, is it? If you start looking at me funny, I'll know it's too much. Look, how about we just say 'forget it' to this whole name tag business, and somebody gets me some pants, instead? I could really use some pants, here!"

Right from the start, Jacen decided this place wasn't what he'd expected. He had heard some of the stories, knew some of the weirdness, though Jaina had expected full explanations in person, but he hadn't thought it would be so normal here. Or rather, he didn't expect Jaina to stay someplace so normal-seeming.

He had a nametag, but thought he probably didn't need to wear it, from what little he'd heard and felt a bit like he'd just been thrown to the wolves. Not you, Blind Seer.

As if it wasn't already bad enough that he had to come to this Parents Weekend, he had to wear a name tag as well?

Manning sighed as he picked up the tag that said Tom Manning and put it on. Professor Bruttenholm was going to owe him big time for this.

Eleni Cooper put her name tag on and turned to survey the crowd. The feel to this place was enough to get her wondering if she'd done the right thing by sending her George here. It was better than the Cesspool, of that there was little doubt, but there were definitely things her son had not told her about this place. That would be rectified as soon as she found him.

Nate... had gotten a name tag. He'd written down his name in nice, neat big letters. He didn't know if... Sophie was running a con, or something like it. Either way, he would be playing the part of Robert today, ambling through the park with-- not quite a sunny smile, but a pleasant expression on his face.

Alejandra had been looking around her since she'd crossed the Causeway onto the island. Even with Guillermo's texts, this hadn't been what she was expecting. Not at all.

She found her name tag and ended up attaching it to her purse. She had to wear name tags enough for her job, and her shirt wasn't one that was suitable.

Penelope Garcia picked up her name tag, but she wrote "Queen of All Knowledge" on it before sticking it on her shirt.

"Of bloody course, bloody Voice of God and I'm supposed to wear a nametag," Metatron said with barely disguised disdain. "If I were Moses, this wouldn't even be necessary."

He pocketed the nametag instead of wearing it. It was a compromise he was willing to make plus he really didn't need people coming up to him and butchering his name.

It was highly unlikely that Phillip was going to put on a name tag for the first time he had seen Gwynn in what -- in his opinion -- had been too long. He was pretty sure she'd know who he was without some silly piece of paper attached to his armor.

Gabriel was all of three. Gabriel had no idea what a nametag was. Instead, after being guided to the meet and greet by a member of the Village that had brought him, he took off like a shot into the crowd, knowing exactly who he was looking for.

Adora was thrilled for everything the day promised! Bow was due to return for a visit and he'd promised to bring a special friend who happened to be in town. Wearing a new, pale pink dress, she found a place to sit with a beverage while awaiting her friend.
