Parents' Weekend Meet & Greet, Town Park [Friday Afternoon]

Barney was smart and had purposefully blocked all outgoing mail from Fandom to his New York City (sorry, no luck for you, Robin) and so could blissfully oversee the gathering of guests, students, teachers, and townies happening in the park. The day was bright and sunny, regardless of what any weather reports might claim.

The Student Council had done a nice job getting things together to greet the visitors. A wide variety of sumptuous food was spread out on long tables at one end of the park. In the center were plenty of comfortable blue and gold tables and chairs perfect for sitting, chatting, and eating. To the other end of he park was the registration table where visitors could sign in and pickup their name tags.

Just above the registration area was a gaudy banner announcing the start of a calm and relaxing weekend. Okay, a weekend where Barney got a lot of popcorn to listen to radio.
Welcome to Parents' Weekend 2009!

Bart really could have used a drink right around now, but he was well versed in the art of looking good in public. Besides, Jack was enough of a public embarrassment for the both of them.

Speaking of said public embarrassment, where the hell has his little brother gotten to? Too bad it wasn't acceptable to put tracking tags on grown men.

Previously aforementioned public embarrassment showed up a minute later, slapping a hand on his brother's shoulder. "Bart! How did your little meeting with Chuck go?"

"Not good," Bart said, shrugging Jack's hand off his shoulder. "Have you been drinking?"

"Of course not." He was high as hell though. "So it didn't go well, huh? Chuck not the uber business man you are?"

Not that Jack had interest in his nephew's financial prowess, oh no.

"He has a lot of talent, actually," Bart said. Why he couldn't have said this to Chuck was anybody's guess. "It's just executed poorly."

"And execution is the most important thing," Jack said. Insert evil laugh here. "Where is the prodigal son?"

"He'll be along shortly," he said. "I gave him some time to make an attitude adjustment."

"I'm sure that's going to go smoothly," he said, smirking. "That kid's been fighting you since day one."

Yeah, bring up the dead wife, Jack. That'll get you out of Australia and back in New York.

Luckily for Jack, Chuck managed to find his family members before Bart could lecture him.

Sure, Chuck didn't say anything and was totally bitchfacing, but he did make his presence known to his father and uncle.

"Chuck!" Jack grinned and immediately pulled his nephew into a one-armed hug. "How's it going, kid?"

"Hi, Uncle Jack," Chuck said, unable to keep a straight face. His uncle always put him in a good mood. "I've been better."

Bart frowned. "Don't, Chuck."

"That's enough, fellas. We're in public," Jack said, loving the fact that he got to say that to Bart for once.

"Ah, yes, the family motto," Chuck said bitterly. Since it didn't seem like he was going to get out of Jack's grip anytime soon, he figured he might as well talk to the man. "How's Australia, Uncle Jack?"

If Jack's grip on Chuck tightened slightly, it was strictly coincidence. Really. "It's been good. Very...Australia-y."

Chuck smirked. "I was surprised you showed up here. The sticks of Maryland doesn't seem like your thing."

"Oh come on, Chuck. Who couldn't love this place?" Jack asked. "There's a castle!"

"You're drunk, aren't you, Uncle Jack?"

Re: Mingling | PW1

Jack laughed and slapped Chuck on the back. "I love this kid!"

Bart rolled his eyes. It was going to be a long weekend.
