fandomtownies | Parents' Weekend Meet & Greet, Town Park [Friday Afternoon]

Barney was smart and had purposefully blocked all outgoing mail from Fandom to his New York City (sorry, no luck for you, Robin) and so could blissfully oversee the gathering of guests, students, teachers, and townies happening in the park. The day was bright and sunny, regardless of what any weather reports might claim.

The Student Council had done a nice job getting things together to greet the visitors. A wide variety of sumptuous food was spread out on long tables at one end of the park. In the center were plenty of comfortable blue and gold tables and chairs perfect for sitting, chatting, and eating. To the other end of he park was the registration table where visitors could sign in and pickup their name tags.

Just above the registration area was a gaudy banner announcing the start of a calm and relaxing weekend. Okay, a weekend where Barney got a lot of popcorn to listen to radio.

Mrs. Priestly could see that her son didn't want his friends to leave, but that he also didn't want them to have to watch him have it out with his mom.

Well, she could understand that. She was young once, too, you know.

She nodded and patted his arm. "I ambushed you, I'm sorry. I'll go. But we are going to have a talk this weekend, Boaz. A very serious talk."

Eeeeeeek. Dinah was now Very Worried. Maybe they'd have to rescue Priestly later. Maybe even from Santa Cruz. "It was..." Um. "Glad to have met you, Mrs. Priestly," she offered, then looked back over at Priestly. "I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay."

Mrs. Priestly offered Dinah a real smile. "And you. I have heard a fair amount about you. Hopefully it was even mostly true." She shook her head. "You seem like a very good friend. Perhaps we'll talk again this weekend."

She leaned in to kiss her son on the cheek before turning to head off. She had a hotel room to locate, after all.

Priestly held still until his mom was out of sight, then let out a huge breath.

"Oh god." He clapped a hand over his mouth. He had to start watching his language again, too, fuck. "Oh man, she's gonna kill me."

Dinah hugged Priestly in a way that was not at all clutching him to her. Right. "Noooo! No metaphorical killing! Or literal taking away. Nooo!"

"Hey. That was brave." Helena gave Priestly a light punch on the bicep. Well, light for her. "Seriously. Telling her everything was the only thing you could do."

Okay, hot lady superhero thinking he was brave totally made him feel a little better.

Even if she did kind of knock him off balance a bit.

"Thanks." He swallowed. "I'm totally gonna end up home schooled."

"We'll come rescue you," Dinah promised. "I swear! I can hide you in my room. Or someone else's." She loosened her grip a little, and then sent Helena a pleading look. "Right?"

"If you need it, we'll help." Helena shot Dinah a cool it look. "But I think you gotta talk this one out first."

Priestly heaved a sigh and nodded. "Yeah. Dude, that's gonna suck." Oh, look, another word he'd get yelled at for using. "I'm gonna demand booze when all this is over. Lots and lots of booze." He glanced at Helena, then leaned towards Dinah. "Uh, your sister doesn't get uptight about underage drinking, right?"

"Not as long as she's not the one serving, we don't puke on her, and we don't drive." Dinah grinned. "Barbara's the one that gets uptight about that. Bartenders are smarter about that stuff."

"So. Funny," Helena said, reaching over to tug on Dinah's hair. "I don't want to know what you get up to together. Just don't be stupid about it." She shot Dinah a smirk. "Should I ask if there's anything more you guys get 'up' to?"

"Probably not," Priestly said, brightening a bit now that it wasn't him getting in trouble.

"Hey!" Dinah protested. "No, no ganging up! Food. Let's do that thing. Okay?"
