fandomtownies | Parents' Weekend Meet & Greet, Town Park [Friday Afternoon]

Barney was smart and had purposefully blocked all outgoing mail from Fandom to his New York City (sorry, no luck for you, Robin) and so could blissfully oversee the gathering of guests, students, teachers, and townies happening in the park. The day was bright and sunny, regardless of what any weather reports might claim.

The Student Council had done a nice job getting things together to greet the visitors. A wide variety of sumptuous food was spread out on long tables at one end of the park. In the center were plenty of comfortable blue and gold tables and chairs perfect for sitting, chatting, and eating. To the other end of he park was the registration table where visitors could sign in and pickup their name tags.

Just above the registration area was a gaudy banner announcing the start of a calm and relaxing weekend. Okay, a weekend where Barney got a lot of popcorn to listen to radio.

"Lapdance? Okay, so some weird stuff happened off-world, but not on this world," Sheppard complained. "And I'm just gonna go ahead and take offense to the fed remark."

"Really not likely," Ronon added, raising his eyebrow. "This is Sheppard, my teammate?" He thought he might've mentioned some names at some point.

"This is John Sheppard?" Linz asked pointing at... well him. "Not, John Ash. Sheppard."

Oops.

"Um. Yeah, hi," she said with an embarrassed look. "I'm Lindsay Boxer. And wow did I just fuck up right now."

"All these damned doppelgangers are gonna give me a headache," John decided. "Or maybe that's just your fist, Lindsay."

"You're fine," Ronon decided, smacking Sheppard on the back, hard. "Nah, Sheppard gets taken out by chicks once a week minimum. Nice punch, by the way."

"Thanks," Lindsay said looking relieved. "I really connected with his jaw. I'm guessing the whole doppelganger thing must be related somehow if he keeps getting taken out by girls."

John pressed his hand to his jaw where, yes, she really had connected. "I'm fine, by the way. Oh, ice? Nah, I can deal." Pretending people were paying attention was fun.

"Wouldn't be surprised," Ronon said, ignoring the whiner. "Might explain the hair, too. All that hitting."

"You know the John I knew?" Lindsay continued. "Also had a thing with his hair. Not as bushy but it had a hell of a lot of product in there. Like it was trying to contain a wild animal or something."

"Probably industrial lacquer," John muttered, knowing when he was being ignored.

Aww. Poor John. Well, no reason to start paying attention to him now.

"Hey you want to get a drink?" Lindsay continued. "Punching out your friends makes me thirsty."

"Sounds good," Ronon agreed, giving Sheppard another smack on the shoulder. "You know, this guy's got some teen girlfriend in town. We gotta keep him from getting arrested."

"Hey, she's like twenty, just on the short side," John tried to interject. "So much for you not thinking I could land a girl." It was the guy thing that had given Ronon those ideas.
