Winter Carnival | All Day | The Park | January 31 [Post #1]

It was a new day and there was no better way to start a new day than with the continuation of the carnival. There was still snow coating the ground but the atmosphere was as lively as ever. With cream-colored decorations and twinkling lights, the Student Council had aimed for a winter wonderland kind of theme, and the snow simply added to the effect. Thankfully, the day was turning out to be warmer, so those who were going to be outside all day wouldn't freeze. Once the finishing touches were done, the carnival was open for business.

Mat also thought adding some women wouldn't be terribly amiss. "Want to give it a go?" he asked.

"...you bet your sweet bippy I do."

"What's a bippy?" Mat asked as he clambered onto one of the platforms and hefted the jousting stick...thing.

"You know, I'm not sure," Deadpool replied, climbing on up as well. "I assume 'ass'."

Mat grinned. "I'm going to have to use that." He set himself up like he would for a regular spar with a quarterstaff.

While Deadpool just twirled his like he was in colorguard.

Or was a magical girl. He might be one. "In the name of the moon and crap! Let's get this party started."

Mat, even with a semester of Deadpool being himself, couldn't stop the blank stare of "what the bloody hell is wrong with this man" that flitted across his face before he finally remembered that he had a weapon in his hand.

He aimed it towards Deadpool's midsection.

It was aaaall part of his charm.

Deadpool made a face, bringing his stick thingy down to block before he fell to his messy, messy end in a vat of chocolate. "Oh, c'mon! It's classic Japanese animation there."

"No animation at home," Mat said with a little shrug as he readjusted his feet and took another shot at Deadpool.

Which left Deadpool balancing on one foot and frowning at him. "You are a sad little man then. Clearly you need to watch more TV," He said, twisting a bit to try and smack Mat on the side of the arm.

"I keep hearing that," Mat admitted as he barely blocked the blow in time and tilted dangerously to one side for a second before righting himself. "I've found other things to do instead."

"...like?"

"I date a lot," Mat said with a little grin.

"Oh ho ho. You cad, you," Deadpool replied, twirling the staff over his head all dramatic like before bringing it down to try and smack Mat on the foot.

Fortunately, the drama gave Mat enough time to move out of the way. It might not be enough to let him hit Deadpool in the ribs like he was attempting too, though.

Oh, he was a crafty one. "One of these days I'mma learn not to twirl it like that," Deadpool said, rubbing his side.

"It looks really impressive, but it leaves your middle open," Mat said. "My da taught me that years ago."

"Yeah, yeah. You and your adorably named father. I'll get you yet!" Deadpool jabbed at Mat's head as if to prove he would.

Mat ducked and the platform wobbled a little. "He's won the village quarterstaff tournament almost every year," he said proudly.

"Ooooo! Are you from ye olde Englande?"

"West Andor," Mat said. "No one here has heard of it."

"...is it near Jersey?" Well, he was trying at least.

Mat laughed. "Not exactly." He smacked out with his weapon toward Deadpool's shoulder. "It used to be called Manetheren?"

Deadpool went with the hit, thinking it over. "New York?" He asked, trying for a sweep of Mat's legs.

Mat leaped over it and laughed again. "We don't even have one building that tall," he said. "We have sheep."
