April Fools' Dance, An Abandoned Warehouse, Friday Night

The first arrivals to the warehouse would have found nothing - until the lights went on, dropping many shades of glitter down onto the floor. The glitter would stick around all night, almost-but-not-quite clashing with the colorful decor, though it did not seem to incite any boykissy.

Even if one of the janitors definitely took a shot at using it as an excuse.

There was a karaoke booth set up in the corner, and the rest of the party environment looked chaotic and incredibly merry. Reds, blues, and yellows had been thrown together like a crazy man had attacked the place with some paint.

"I do dance," Rilla said, "and I love to, but it's not at all like the...bouncing up and down...they do now. There are more formalized steps."

"The music is different where I'm from, but we usually don't dance with complicated steps like that," Sov said. "Is it difficult?"

"Not terribly," Rilla assured Sov. "Would you like me to show you?"

"I'd like that!" Sov said. "I could show you how we dance on my world too, but you might find it a little like bouncing up and down."

"I'll show you then," Sov said, forgetting that they were holding a glass of punch and a plate and almost dropped it by gesturing too cheerfully.

Rilla giggled. "Maybe we should put our refreshments down first."

And Sov laughed too. "Perhaps we should. Or we could just eat all this first and then dance."

"The less wasteful option," Rilla said approvingly.

"And wasting tasty food is bad," Sov replied. "And I think we have time for both."

"Yes, so we're in no hurry, are we?" That didn't mean that Sov took the opportunity to finish their glass of punch.
