Homecoming Carnival- Post II- The Park- Friday, October 23

While the booths were fun and all, this was where the gothic disco theme really shone. The decor was heavy on three things: 1) black, 2) spooky, 3) shiny. And while you might not think those things went together, allow Student Council to prove you wrong. There was even very minimal glitter so you know they're serious. (It was an impossibility to keep all glitter away from homecoming, it sort of just migrated there, sentiently.)

There are plenty of moddable concessions! They're also leaning heavily on a fall and/or spooky theme.

Diego wasn't sure how he felt about the disco goth theme, but he wasn't one to turn down free food. He grabbed some food and took a look around, soaking in the kinda normal high school experience he had missed out on.

Yeah, if you thought 'Yana wasn't going to be stuffing her face with carnival food, then you didn't know her very well.

She was very much here, sampling everything the Homecoming Carnival had to offer.

Pumpkin spice popcorn sounded disgusting, but Jaye would try it anyway.

She was surprised when she got her order and was handed a broom with it, though.

Stark, still sporting abnormally good hair thanks, Tahani!, made his way to the carnival and immediately headed for the food. Because free food.
The first plate was mostly free of desserts, aside from the one small apple cider donut.

Unless something was actively exploding, Jaina would always come back for homecoming. She had a grandfather to dunk, after all.

While she wasn't doing that, she found a spot to sit and see if she recognized anyone. And maybe she had to knock down a broom with the Force when it kept falling over from where it was leaning against the table. Sorry for showing off, those of you who'd lost telekinesis.

You know what was the best way to sublimate what you were hoping was just an island thing but might actually be...like, a medical concern? Carnival food. Annie had found herself a spot at a table and was now picking at a funnel cake, occasionally flexing a hand and looking at it like she expected something to happen.

Everything else seemed okay - her workout had been normal, and she'd tried poking at her skin with a kitchen knife and yeah, same old impenetrable skin there, too. And while no one had warned her that this, specifically, might happen...well, she'd been stepping around brooms all day, you know? It wouldn't surprise her if this was the island's fault, and she wasn't going to panic just yet.

After her time at the pie tossing, Kitty made her way back towards the tables with t a drink to hang out for a while.

Of course, when you were used to being intangible and just passing through things that were inconvenient, when you didn't have that anymore, you might just ram your shin into the corner of a table seat really hard, which might elicit a loud, "Fork!"

Don't mind Atton. He had a lot on his mind. Wasn't even sure why he'd come here, really, beyond holding off the meeting with Azlyn a little longer.

He sat down at a table somewhere in the corner and brooded.

Kind of went with the aesthetic, right?

And at some point after she'd gotten out of the tank and gotten a hold of a towel, Rey came to hang out by the tables, where she was trying to move a broom using the Force.

And not liking that it wasn't working.

It was hard for Tisarwat to not feel a little bittersweet about an event called Homecoming when one of her fellow Radchaai had already left for home and the other would be leaving soon. There was a little tug in her that wondered if the timing was a sign of sorts, but she knew she had to stay strong in her conviction that it made sense for Seivarden and Breq, but she...she really did feel she had more to do here. So it took her some time to bring herself to do so, but she came out to the carnival, to maybe mingle and remind herself of what she liked about this place...

...though the emphasis on finger foods available for snacks and the like wasn't doing a very good job. And neither was the mediocre tea she wound up getting and settling with at a table with a small sigh.

Maybe she might fare better with the games? Or the rides, perhaps? For now, though, she supposed she'd just watch and look contemplative, weighing out her options.

Hannibal looked around and took a deep breath of air, faintly frowning. Nothing smelled as sharp today, everything a dull echo of the usual.

Which was no excuse to eat garbage, so he had a bag of his own food and coffee, as usual. He might share with someone if they were polite.
