Homecoming Carnival- Post II- The Park- Friday, October 23

While the booths were fun and all, this was where the gothic disco theme really shone. The decor was heavy on three things: 1) black, 2) spooky, 3) shiny. And while you might not think those things went together, allow Student Council to prove you wrong. There was even very minimal glitter so you know they're serious. (It was an impossibility to keep all glitter away from homecoming, it sort of just migrated there, sentiently.)

"I'll leave all the dead-as-disco jokes for you," Annie promised, just as a sparkly ghoul popped out at them.

And okay, it was mechanized and making little whirring sounds and not scary at all, but it startled Annie enough that there might have been a little yelp.

The hand-squeeze kind of made her want to keep pretending to be scared. Shhhh. "I don't know that that's not worse than a regular ghost," she pointed out.

"I feel like you need to be corporeal to do drugs," said the chick who had never so much as lit a cigarette, so what did she know? "Unless you think they like, died with coke in their systems and now they're coked out foreeeever."

Yes, she said that last in a spooOOOOoooOOooky voice.

Annie snorted, reaching up to pat his arm with her free hand. "It's okay, that one seemed like a real threat," she assured him, clearly holding back a laugh. "We just have to tell ourselves it's not real."

At least, it was an undertone until another stupid mechanized ghoul popped out, and she made a noise that didn't sound entirely unlike, "Eep!"
