Caritas- Saturday before 8:15 pm

It was that time of year again! New people were here! New people to date, get to know, or perhaps make a mortal enemy of!

You never know.

Signs were hung up in front of the bar, both obviously, and easy to miss for anyone who might wander in and get signed up without their knowledge. Above the bar was a banner (in glitter):

TONIGHT!
THREE MINUTE DATES!
GOOD LUCK WBRURBODY

Your hostess wasn't gonna question it. And a few minutes before 8:00, she took the stage.

"Hello, everyone! And welcome to Three Minute Dates!" Kitty greeted them. "If you're new to this, the rules are simple. We call your name along with one other person. You talk to this person, get to know their likes, their loves, their dreams. After three minutes, a buzzer will sound-" Pause for the sound. "-and you'll hear your name paired with a different person. Et cetera. If there is anyone you'd like to talk to more, the bar will be open afterwards for drinks and conversation. Remember that any violence will get you transported into the pond, but also please don't attempt violence in order to flee, that is rude to the rest of your dates. Now I'm going to get off the stage. Have fun, and good luck..."

She trailed off, not going to attempt to pronounce the word on that sign.

Liz was trying to not feel nervous as she made her way over for the first round, resisting the urge to put her hand on her stomach as she did and sat down at the table.

She just hoped that she could make it through the evening without crying at any point, she would consider that successful after the last couple of weeks.

Jaye mostly knew Liz from radio as the girl who cried a lot, so she did have to check, "Do you maybe want some water to start or something?"

Liz was not really that surprised by the question, “I had a water before I started,” she assured her and then because she was trying to take better care of herself and her daughter, “but I won’t say no to another water,” she admitted.

Jaye signaled for someone to bring over some more water. Perhaps a carafe.

"So what brings you to Three Minute Dates?"

“Trying to be more social mostly,” Liz admitted, “it was pointed out that I’ve not been dealing with everything in a very healthy way,”

That was a massive understatement Liz.

“how about you?” she asked.

"Didn't feel like working," Jaye said, jerking a thumb towards the bar.

“I can understand that,” Liz nodded, “I imagine it would be pretty hectic working on a night like this?” she had a look round at how many people there seemed to be.

"Nah. You hand everyone beers and they talk to each other, not me, and then I get the tips," she said. It's great."

“Oh, that doesn’t sound to bad,” Liz admitted, not that she thought she’d be ready for bar work any time soon, “at least it would help make the evening go by quicker, with this many people?”
