Caritas- Saturday before 8:15 pm

It was that time of year again! New people were here! New people to date, get to know, or perhaps make a mortal enemy of!

You never know.

Signs were hung up in front of the bar, both obviously, and easy to miss for anyone who might wander in and get signed up without their knowledge. Above the bar was a banner (in glitter):

TONIGHT!
THREE MINUTE DATES!
GOOD LUCK WBRURBODY

Your hostess wasn't gonna question it. And a few minutes before 8:00, she took the stage.

"Hello, everyone! And welcome to Three Minute Dates!" Kitty greeted them. "If you're new to this, the rules are simple. We call your name along with one other person. You talk to this person, get to know their likes, their loves, their dreams. After three minutes, a buzzer will sound-" Pause for the sound. "-and you'll hear your name paired with a different person. Et cetera. If there is anyone you'd like to talk to more, the bar will be open afterwards for drinks and conversation. Remember that any violence will get you transported into the pond, but also please don't attempt violence in order to flee, that is rude to the rest of your dates. Now I'm going to get off the stage. Have fun, and good luck..."

She trailed off, not going to attempt to pronounce the word on that sign.

It still took some getting used to looking up at someone who was taller than him, "I've been trying to keep busy," he admitted, since talking about feelings and everything was still difficult for him but he was trying, "classes have been going well, went to space the other week to help fight an Empire, wrecked my ship in the process ... my d...my CO was not happy," he still felt weird casually referring to Walsh as his dad so he decided to stick to addressing him as his CO, which was still the truth.

"How about you?" he asked, looking up at him.

"Ah, yes," said Sidon eagerly. "I remember having received that call for help, and I still regret that I was unable to make it, but, alas, that is the bane of being a prince sometimes, duty from home must take precedence above all else! It was nothing too troublesome, of course, just a particularly nasty influx of lizalfos with the coming of the Blood Moon, but the timing truly could have been better; I would have loved to have helped! But I am sorry to hear about your ship, will it be very difficult to fix it, or is it, unfortunately, a lost cause at this point?

"And I have been well," he added, without even missing a beat....or seemingly even taking a breath. "Thank you! My schedule has changed a little bit, and so that's taken some getting used to, but we're already in preparations for setting the shelter up for the upcoming winter, though I do hope it decides to take its time in getting here! I do so miss the summer months here when they have gone."

“It’s looking like it will be a lost cause,” Goose grimaced, “I’m trying to get it fixed but I will probably be needing a new one, it’s … the third one I’ve wrecked in two years,” he admitted.

Which given Goose’s record and piloting it could have been a lot worse.

“Is there a lot of preparations involved in getting the shelter prepared for winter?” he asked, tilting his head slightly.

"That is an awful lot of ships in such a short amount of time!" Sidon couldn't help remarking, blinking a little, partly surprised, but also a little impressed? "Perhaps you ought to be just a little more careful with future ones, though!"

It was pretty bad, Goose, if Sidon was telling you to be more cautious, really.

But the suggestion was light, and his grin was still easy as he continued with, "There isn't much, no. It's mostly just making sure all the emergency contingents, like the generators and the hair dryers, are still in good working order, and, of course, making sure the tanks are fit for the colder weather. As a Zora, I rather prefer to sleep out in the bay, in the water, where there is plenty of room for me and I find it most agreeable, but, unfortunately, I do not do well in that situation when the weather gets so cold in the winter, so I must spend my nights instead in the tanks at the shelter with the fish. They do not seem to mind, and it's quite fortunate, that I should have this option available to me at all, so I can hardly complain with the arrangement..."

He trailed off with a faint chuckle.

"Though I will certainly complain about the cold!"

Goose did look very sheepish at that, rubbing the back of his neck at the caution, “I know my CO would definitely appreciate not having to read me the riot act for wrecking a ship,”

Even though it was Goose, something was bound to happen for him to get read the riot act.

He did smile at that, “the cold does take some getting used to,” he admitted, “I’m normally based out of West Australia, so the conditions are pretty dry and humid most of the year, I do prefer the warmer months as well,”

"There really is no climate better suited to a Zora than Zora's Domain," Sidon admitted with a chuckle, "which I suppose is precisely why my forebears chose to claim it as their home for millennia to come! And though it is most comfortable, it does tend to get a bit boring, and I do rather enjoy experiencing more varied weather when I can. Things like spring rains and autumn leaves surely make the sometimes bitter cold and the too-freezing ocean well worth it, I should say! Perhaps I shall have to add West Australia to my list of places to still visit, I don't believe I've ever ventured out that way!"
