Caritas- Saturday before 8:15 pm

It was that time of year again! New people were here! New people to date, get to know, or perhaps make a mortal enemy of!

You never know.

Signs were hung up in front of the bar, both obviously, and easy to miss for anyone who might wander in and get signed up without their knowledge. Above the bar was a banner (in glitter):

TONIGHT!
THREE MINUTE DATES!
GOOD LUCK WBRURBODY

Your hostess wasn't gonna question it. And a few minutes before 8:00, she took the stage.

"Hello, everyone! And welcome to Three Minute Dates!" Kitty greeted them. "If you're new to this, the rules are simple. We call your name along with one other person. You talk to this person, get to know their likes, their loves, their dreams. After three minutes, a buzzer will sound-" Pause for the sound. "-and you'll hear your name paired with a different person. Et cetera. If there is anyone you'd like to talk to more, the bar will be open afterwards for drinks and conversation. Remember that any violence will get you transported into the pond, but also please don't attempt violence in order to flee, that is rude to the rest of your dates. Now I'm going to get off the stage. Have fun, and good luck..."

She trailed off, not going to attempt to pronounce the word on that sign.

"It's been.... an experience, I will say that," Billy said with a small laugh. "Think things finally started making a turn once I mostly accepted the fact that I am kinda stuck here for the foreseeable future."

Billy paused, remembering those desperate first attempts and ultimate failures, to try and get off the island.

"I mean, it's not Cancun by any stretch, but there have been much worse places I have been forced to hide out in so....Fandom's not too bad in my book."

"I know that feeling," Tisarwat agreed, with a small sigh and a roll of her lilac eyes, "all too well, unfortunately, but you're right. There are much worse places to be stuck."

But as Billy spoke, something had occured to Tisarwat, who tilted her head at him thoughtfully. "I think," she realized, "we actually have met before, a while ago. You live next to Summer, don't you? I vaguely remember when you moved in, I used to live down the hall..."

Billy thought and then it hit him as well too.

"Oh that's right. The tea," he said with a fond smile and small nod. "Still must say by far the best tea I have had since coming here."

"The tea," Tisarwat confirmed, her smile actually a bit warmed by that, because if a Radchaii was going to be remembered for anything...tea was one of the better ones. "And thank you. No offense to the island, but that's a rather low bar to clear, but I'm glad we were able to clear it so well. If you ever want to drop in and visit, and enjoy a cup or two, we're in the apartment above Covent Garden now. Or you can always just stop by the store, I always have some prepared on days I'm th--"

The buzzer buried her last word, and Tisarwat smile.

"Especially since it seems our time is up. But it was nice reconnecting again, Billy. Maybe next time, we won't have been such strangers in between."
