Valentine's Dance; Town Hall; Friday Evening [8 pm - 10 pm]

Arrivals to town hall would notice that the Student Council took a darker approach to the decorations this year. The colors of the streamers, balloons and table cloths were in shades of dark red and black. Instead of cut outs of hearts and pictures of cupid, there were broken mirrors hanging on the walls, open umbrellas scattered about the room, fake cobwebs on the wall and glittery cut outs of the number "13" hung everywhere.

You even had to walk under a huge ladder in order to get into the dance.

Sure, they were tempting fate by having a Friday the 13th themed dance but this was Fandom. What's the worst that could happen?

[Wait for the OCD or so help me...I'll hurt you is here! Up early because Natalie said so and to get the most out of play. Second part to go up later on tonight (tomorrow?) to save browsers and to spike punch]

"Nope, just tonight," Emmett said with a grin. "Flying back to Washington tomorrow morning. I think Rosalie would kill me if I didn't spend Valentine's Day with her."

"That'd be the safe guess." And she didn't even know Rosalie. "I am kind of surprised you showed up to the dance, though."

"Not even I can resist the call of streamers and punch, Buffy," Emmett said, trying to keep a straight face.

"Even when walking in here is just begging for bad luck?" she pointed out, and sing-songed, "Might regret it lateeeeer."

"What can I say? I'm man who likes a little danger with his dances," Emmett said. He paused. "Or a conga line. Either one."

"And you know what I'm gonna do now?" Buffy asked. "I'm gonna dare you to start a conga line."

"Please, I was made to start conga lines," Emmett told her. "With this height I'm a natural conga line leader."

"You ever see a short person try to lead a conga line?" Emmett asked. "It's a recipe for disaster."

"I'll admit, I don't see a lot of conga lines," Buffy said. "Sunnydale is lacking in the fun group dances."

"I actually forgot that existed till right this second," she admitted.

Emmett pretended to look shocked. "How could you? That almost beats the Macarena in terms of sheer awesome."

Buffy stared at him. "Awesome? With the hands and the..." She gave a tiny little demonstration with her hands on her head, then stared some more. "Please be joking."

"Oh god, I'm totally joking," Emmett said, laughing. "That dance was a crime against humanity."

"Oh, thank god," she said, visibly relieved. "I would have had to take back the friendship bracelet I might've given you if we were in fourth grade."
