Valentine's Dance; Town Hall; Friday Evening [8 pm - 10 pm]

Arrivals to town hall would notice that the Student Council took a darker approach to the decorations this year. The colors of the streamers, balloons and table cloths were in shades of dark red and black. Instead of cut outs of hearts and pictures of cupid, there were broken mirrors hanging on the walls, open umbrellas scattered about the room, fake cobwebs on the wall and glittery cut outs of the number "13" hung everywhere.

You even had to walk under a huge ladder in order to get into the dance.

Sure, they were tempting fate by having a Friday the 13th themed dance but this was Fandom. What's the worst that could happen?

[~~Wait for the~~ OCD ~~or so help me...I'll hurt you~~ is here! Up early because Natalie said so and to get the most out of play. Second part to go up later on tonight (tomorrow?) to save browsers and to spike punch]

"What up, Ears?" Emmett said, grinning. "You're looking very suave."

Ears? Merlin just rolled his eyes an ignored it. Any encouragement would make it worse if he was anything like Arthur.

"You think so? It took ages to figure out the tie."

Emmett smirked. "Feels like you're being slowly strangled by a weak guy, doesn't it?"

"Actually, yes," Merlin said, as if that was the perfect description for the bloody thing.

He chuckled. "If it makes you feel better, girls love a guy in a tie. They think it's cute or something."

Merlin tugged on it a bit, shaking his head. "Because it's like a leash?"

"That's...oh, wow, I never thought about that before," Emmett said. "You might be on to something there."

"That's--a bit frightening if you think about it."

"Depends on who has the other end of the leash," Emmett said. "Speaking of which, you here alone? Or is there someone here to tug on your leash?"

Heh. Dirty.

Merlin gave him a scandalized look, but couldn't help the snort that came before it. "Francine and I are making up the date we missed last week."

"Awwwwwwwww," Emmett teased. "That's cute. Badg--Francine is cute. Especially when she's angry."

"I haven't seen her angry yet, so I'll take your word on that," Merlin replied. "What did she yell at you about?"

"The porn thing," Emmett said with a grin.

"I don't think she knew I talked to you about it," Merlin said with a wince. "Sorry about that."

"Oh, dude, it's no big deal," he said with wave of his hand. "I have chicks yelling at me all the time."

Merlin gave him a look that really should have been skeptical, but he'd met Emmett, you see. "Do you make a habit of that?"

"It's not like I try to get them mad at me," Emmett told him. "It just happens."

Merlin just nodded as though he believed him. "Did you ask anyone here?"

Emmett shook his head. "Uh, no, I've got a girl back home. She'd try to kill me if I asked another girl here."

"Does the girl know about--" Merlin waved vague as if to imply something odd about him. Or maybe he was just mimicking some signal Arthur had attempted to impress upon him during a hunt.

"Uh, she is one, dude," Emmett said, grinning.

"Oh! Well. That must be nice," Merlin replied. "That she's like you."

"Yeah. She saved my life after I got attacked by a bear. That's how we met," Emmett said. "Been together ever since."

That was.. actually rather sweet. Merlin made a completely sappy face to voice this 'awww'.

"How long is that?"

"Seventy-three years," he said, looking proud.
