Valentine's Dance; Town Hall; Friday Evening [8 pm - 10 pm]

Arrivals to town hall would notice that the Student Council took a darker approach to the decorations this year. The colors of the streamers, balloons and table cloths were in shades of dark red and black. Instead of cut outs of hearts and pictures of cupid, there were broken mirrors hanging on the walls, open umbrellas scattered about the room, fake cobwebs on the wall and glittery cut outs of the number "13" hung everywhere.

You even had to walk under a huge ladder in order to get into the dance.

Sure, they were tempting fate by having a Friday the 13th themed dance but this was Fandom. What's the worst that could happen?

[Wait for the OCD or so help me...I'll hurt you is here! Up early because Natalie said so and to get the most out of play. Second part to go up later on tonight (tomorrow?) to save browsers and to spike punch]

Angela was dressed that little bit brighter (http://i39.tinypic.com/15nuj5x.jpg) than the theme around her. She always was a fan of the colours that stood out.

For a Valentine's day dance, this theme was... "Wow." Creepy. "Different."

"I thought so myself," he admitted with a small, polite wave.

"You look very nice tonight."

Angela grinned at him. "Aw, thank you," she said. "Looking very smart yourself, Liir."

"Appearances can be deceiving," he said with a touch of self-depreciating humor.

"Here with anyone, or just coming for a good time?" because despite being awkward, he did enjoy these things. The atmosphere was charged and happy, filled with light and life and joy, and there was nothing wrong with that.

"I'm just here for the party," Angela replied. "I live for this sort of thing." A bit of an exaggeration, sure, but it did always put her in a brighter mood.

"And I do have a dance to collect on from at least one person."

"Oh? Anyone I'd know?"

"My roommate," Angela said. "Hannibal."

"Ahh," he said with the authority of someone who heard the name often but never seemed to meet the man himself. They had, once, but it hadn't been memorable.

"Well, it's not as if you don't know where he lives," he noted.

"Easy enough to hunt him down if he escapes before I can drag him out on the dancefloor," she agreed with a smile."

"You could probably use some of the decorations for a net, if need be," he replied, teasing just a little.

"I doubt you'll have to. I can't imagine any reason why someone wouldn't want to dance with you."

Angela laughed, "Well, I hope you're right and I don't have to resort to that. I prefer not having to look quite that desperate."

"Well," he said after a thought, "if you don't mind a more sedate pace, I certainly wouldn't mind dancing with you sometime this evening."

"As long as Amber doesn't mind me stealing you away for a few minutes," she said with a grin. "I would like that."

"I always wander a bit at these things. Too many things to see," and he held out a hand to the decor and all the people, "people to talk to. And all the lights."

Shiny things, in other words.

"I don't think she'll mind."

"Knowing Amber..." Angela nodded. "I'd have to agree."

"Glad you agree. I always appreciate second guessing," and he absolutely meant it so hopefully that was conveyed.

"Anyway, I'll stop taking up your time, of course, let you get to the party," and he leaned sideways to do just that.

"It's nice to see you, though."

"And great to see you too," she said, smiling at Liir. "Come find me later, and we'll fit that dance in."
