Valentine's Dance; Town Hall; Friday Evening [8 pm - 10 pm]

Arrivals to town hall would notice that the Student Council took a darker approach to the decorations this year. The colors of the streamers, balloons and table cloths were in shades of dark red and black. Instead of cut outs of hearts and pictures of cupid, there were broken mirrors hanging on the walls, open umbrellas scattered about the room, fake cobwebs on the wall and glittery cut outs of the number "13" hung everywhere.

You even had to walk under a huge ladder in order to get into the dance.

Sure, they were tempting fate by having a Friday the 13th themed dance but this was Fandom. What's the worst that could happen?

[Wait for the OCD or so help me...I'll hurt you is here! Up early because Natalie said so and to get the most out of play. Second part to go up later on tonight (tomorrow?) to save browsers and to spike punch]

"What class was that?" Triela asked, head cocked curiously.

He shook his head.

"He actually just did it in the park one weekend," and he was almost amazed that he could speak about Professor Ambrose without being upset anymore.

"Wow," Triela shook her head. "Why?" That sounded like a lot of work.

"He liked it," he said simply.

"He thought it was important for every person to know. Considering I'd just come from, er, where I came from and there was this dance coming up, I was glad of it."

"Huh." Triela nodded slowly. "And has it been useful?"

"I'd say so," he had to admit, leaning against something convenient.

"It certainly makes me feel less awkward about the whole thing. And I need all the help there I can get."

"Was it hard?" Not that Triela really planned to learn it herself, but if a situation ever came up it'd be good to know how much effort it would take.

"I tend to learn things oddly," he admitted, "but I didn't find it hard. I could probably show you the most basic of the two he showed here, if you wanted to learn."

"I'll keep that in mind if I ever decide I need to."

He nodded to that, glad at the opportunity of being useful.

"Does Amber know you're here?" he asked after a moment.

"Probably. She knew I was going, but I haven't seen her since I got here."

"I should probably get a roommate again," he admitted with a touch of guilt.

"I've not been with one since my first semester. I don't know if I'm missing something worthwhile or just a lot of bother. I've seen both."

"I like mine," Triela grinned.

That made him laugh.

"Quite obviously. You're putting up with her bore of a beau, after all."

"Oh, you're not so bad," Triela snorted. She didn't have any problems with Liir, even if that was about as much as she could say.

"But I'm also nothing good," he replied with a brief smirk.

"I will, however, take my luck where I can find it and let you enjoy the dance without my bother. It's nice to see you here, though."

"Take care of my roommate, Liir," Triela warned only half-jokingly.

He looked at her for a moment, noticing the half-joke for the half-seriousness it held.

"Of course. I'll always do my best for her."

Whatever that's worth.

"Good." She nodded in approval and disappeared back into the crowd.

She'd be watching.
