Valentine's Dance; Town Hall; Friday Evening [8 pm - 10 pm]

Arrivals to town hall would notice that the Student Council took a darker approach to the decorations this year. The colors of the streamers, balloons and table cloths were in shades of dark red and black. Instead of cut outs of hearts and pictures of cupid, there were broken mirrors hanging on the walls, open umbrellas scattered about the room, fake cobwebs on the wall and glittery cut outs of the number "13" hung everywhere.

You even had to walk under a huge ladder in order to get into the dance.

Sure, they were tempting fate by having a Friday the 13th themed dance but this was Fandom. What's the worst that could happen?

[Wait for the OCD or so help me...I'll hurt you is here! Up early because Natalie said so and to get the most out of play. Second part to go up later on tonight (tomorrow?) to save browsers and to spike punch]

"I might," Triela answered casually. "I'm not really much of a dancer though."

"So find me when you want to, and we'll be swaying at the same time," Dinah said, grinning. "I'm not very good either." She twirled in a circle. "But it's really great. I'm glad I came."

"I'm glad you're having fun," Triela smiled. "And I'm glad you talked me into going shopping with you guys."

"Yaaaay," Dinah said, then bit her lip. "Did Mr. Algren talk to you, last Tuesday? Did that go okay?"

"He did. I guess it went well." Triela shrugged. "Like I said, I'm glad you care."

"Good." Which, God, that shouldn't twist her gut so much. Happy happy party party shiny shiny now, damnit. "And of course! Oh, I'm going home for a couple days next week. Wednesday and Thursday. So if you plan any roof climbing next week, don't include it then?"

"I'll keep that in mind," Triela laughed. "But we do need to do that sometime soon."

She cocked her head. "What's going on back home for you, anyway?" She sort of doubted it was much like her own trips home.

"New Gotham City, New Jersey." Dinah rolled her eyes. "Which no one so far has heard of. I guess it doesn't exist here. I'm going back to see my sisters, and hopefully convince them to let me stay longer than one semester." She sighed. "I kind of have to come clean about what this place is like, though. I've been lying to them too long already."

"They didn't know about, oh. The magic, or the powers, or the different worlds people are from, here." Dinah looked a little glum. "They just thought it was a normal boarding school. I'm pretty sure Alfred knew better, it was his idea. But it's too hard to keep things from them now. And this is the first chance I've had to go home since New Year's, so...."

"What do you think they'll say?" Triela asked, a bit worried. "They won't stop you from coming back, will they?"

"See, I have Alfred on my side, so that helps. And there's this whole other thing--" She waved her hand, not wanting to explain the whole Hawke family trial yet, "--that may mean, hey, they don't have a lot of options, I have to go to a boarding school somewhere this term. So, I'm hoping, between that, and maybe getting Barbara to talk to the principal, they'll be okay with it." She sighed. "But yeah. They might."

"And if there's anything I can do..." Not that Triela had any ideas on that front. She was a kill people and break things sort of person for the most part.
