April Fools' Dance, An Abandoned Warehouse, Friday Night

The first arrivals to the warehouse would have found nothing - until the lights went on, dropping many shades of glitter down onto the floor. The glitter would stick around all night, almost-but-not-quite clashing with the colorful decor, though it did not seem to incite any boykissy.

Even if one of the janitors definitely took a shot at using it as an excuse.

There was a karaoke booth set up in the corner, and the rest of the party environment looked chaotic and incredibly merry. Reds, blues, and yellows had been thrown together like a crazy man had attacked the place with some paint.

"It's an option," Jack said. It wasn't quite where he saw his career going, but who was he to rule anything out? "I have a hard time crying if McDonald's has to give some poor woman a few million dollars. What about you, are you thinking about heading back to school?"

He shook his head. "Nah, not for me. I'm gonna hang out a little more and then probably work up to getting some part time gig to fill the time. I've got no real aspirations or anything. I should probably work on that so I don't become fused to the sofa via moldy Doritos."

"Seeing if moldy Doritos would fuse you to the sofa would be one kind of aspiration," Jack said thoughtfully, a glimmer of humor in his voice. "I don't know if it could happen. Perhaps you could be the first."

"Once I'm done with school and licensed? I don't see why not." Lack of confidence was never Jack's problem. "So just ... wait five years or so on getting stuck to the couch, all right?"
