April Fools' Dance, An Abandoned Warehouse, Friday Night

The first arrivals to the warehouse would have found nothing - until the lights went on, dropping many shades of glitter down onto the floor. The glitter would stick around all night, almost-but-not-quite clashing with the colorful decor, though it did not seem to incite any boykissy.

Even if one of the janitors definitely took a shot at using it as an excuse.

There was a karaoke booth set up in the corner, and the rest of the party environment looked chaotic and incredibly merry. Reds, blues, and yellows had been thrown together like a crazy man had attacked the place with some paint.

Another glomping hug, and Dinah grinned and bounced a little. "How are you doing? You still have to visit me during non-criminal season. Which, okay, that's like six hours on May 5, but you can always come by earlier too."

"Do the criminals take that night off?" Raven wondered, taking her far too seriously.

Loosening her hold, Dinah grinned and stepped back, amused. "Sometimes? They just don't usually warn us. Are you getting ready for graduation next month? Got plans yet?"

"I have not thought of graduation very much," Raven said soberly, turning her head to glance about and see if she could spot Jono. Denial seemed a much better path.

"Hey," Dinah said lightly, "it'll be awesome. You can still hang out on the island afterward, you know. At the very least, the whole summer. Maybe get a TA teaching job." She followed Raven's line of sight, looking for who she was looking for.

Raven gave Dinah a puzzled look. "I am not graduating this year," she said. "I have one more year left. But Kennedy and Sookie and Tahiri are all graduating this year. And...Jono."

Woooooe.

"...I'm a ditz," Dinah apologized. "And awww. That's going to be rough. Especially the Jono part." Jeez, like her and Jaime last year-- no! Not like that! Nopes. "Although Portalocity is our friend. When they're not our tormentor."

"I do not need Portalcity, at least," Raven said. "Since I can teleport. But I am not looking forward to when Jono leaves the island."

Her sad expression brightened. "He told me he loves me," she confided.

"Yes! And people will come back and visit you, too, and Jono as well-- Awwww!" Dinah beamed at Raven, and took her hand and squeezed it. "He did? That is so awesome!" Months and months of wishing, and now yay!

Raven nodded, beaming and radiant. "I felt it from him, but he did not say it until just a few days ago," she said. "I have wanted that for so long."

If only she hadn't vomited immediately afterward to spoil the moment, but oh well.

That got her hugged again, briefly, and Dinah doing a little spin. "See? That's the important thing. The most important thing." She sighed happily for Raven and Jono. Awwww.

"We have not discussed graduation at all," Raven admitted. "I think we are both avoiding it. It is still several weeks away." Or twenty-nine days to be exact. Not that she had counted.

Not that Dinah would totally get that or anything. Nope.

"And then all summer, if he wants to hang out here," Dinah pointed out. "And... then it's only nine months or so until you graduate. And you're not tied down to anything, so..." Dinah suddenly cocked her head. "Hey. Are you going to go to college, do you think? I know you're going to be part of Karla's Court, but she'll still have another year to go or so."

"I have not considered what I might do while I wait for Karla to graduate," Raven said, shaking her head. "College would take more than a year, and I am uncertain what I would wish to learn anyway."

"Still lots of time, though." Dinah smiled. "You can always visit me some more. Or just bum around. Or go where Jono goes." She shook her head. "Anyway. Ice cream and silliness this weekend?"

"Of course," Raven said, her smile returning. "And Karla, too?"

"Makes it even better!" Karla was skilled at silliness! "...although that does mean we have to get lots more ice cream."

"Of course, since Karla will eat enough for both of us," Raven said teasingly.

"If that's a challenge, I am so going to try."

And fail. But it would be funny to make the attempt. "Plan!"

"Indeed, it is a plan," Raven agreed. "Tomorrow afternoon?"

"I'll be there. I'll be the one with the really big spoon."

Karla would be the one using her fingers, probably.
