April Fools' Dance, An Abandoned Warehouse, Friday Night

The first arrivals to the warehouse would have found nothing - until the lights went on, dropping many shades of glitter down onto the floor. The glitter would stick around all night, almost-but-not-quite clashing with the colorful decor, though it did not seem to incite any boykissy.

Even if one of the janitors definitely took a shot at using it as an excuse.

There was a karaoke booth set up in the corner, and the rest of the party environment looked chaotic and incredibly merry. Reds, blues, and yellows had been thrown together like a crazy man had attacked the place with some paint.

"Don't worry about it. I'm sure no one really plans for that to happen," said Hoshi. "I'm just happy that you managed to come back, safe and sound."

Raven nodded as she hugged Hoshi. "As am I," she said. "It is good to be home again." Fandom was definitely more of a home than Azarath had ever been.

Oddly enough, Hoshi felt the same way. "I should warn you not to get too attached to this place," she said. "At some point, you graduate and have to leave. I like the place where I'm living now, but it still doesn't quite feel like home."

"I am here for another year at least," Raven said. "Then I must wait a year for Karla. I do not know what I will do then."

"I hated having to leave, and I'm really not that far away," said Hoshi. "Maybe you should do what I did and find a place to live that's right across the causeway. I could come back here for dinner or coffee a couple times a week if I wanted to." Not that she remembered to take advantage of the closeness...

"Perhaps," Raven nodded. "Or I will spend my time visiting friends who have graduated before me. It is easy when I do not have to rely on portals."

"Lucky you. Portalocity keeps giving me the strangest itineraries," said Hoshi. "The last time I tried to go to California, I had a really long stopover in Sweden."

"I have heard similar tales," Raven said, wrinkling her nose. Technology was so inferior to her natural abilities. "It is much safer to travel with me."
