April Fools' Dance, An Abandoned Warehouse, Friday Night

The first arrivals to the warehouse would have found nothing - until the lights went on, dropping many shades of glitter down onto the floor. The glitter would stick around all night, almost-but-not-quite clashing with the colorful decor, though it did not seem to incite any boykissy.

Even if one of the janitors definitely took a shot at using it as an excuse.

There was a karaoke booth set up in the corner, and the rest of the party environment looked chaotic and incredibly merry. Reds, blues, and yellows had been thrown together like a crazy man had attacked the place with some paint.

Percy shot him a look for that first comment but said, "Yeah, sure, go ahead. If you dump more glitter on me, I'm gonna try and trip you."

"Why would I -" Bobby snickered. "Okay, that would have been a good idea. I should have brought some glitter, but I don't think you'd've had to try to trip me."

He paused before continuing. "Um, so you and Nico are related, right?"

"Yes, we're cousins," he said slowly, trying to figure out where Bobby was going with this.

"So that means your dad's Poseidon? Or Neptune maybe. I mean, Nico said Hades, so I guessed Greek but I don't want to be, um, prejudiced. Against the Romans," Bobby said all in a rush.

Ooooh, that's right. Even if Percy had gotten more open with the demigod thing, he hadn't talked to Bobby about it.

"Um, yeah," he said, nodding. "Poseidon's my dad. Sorry, I'd forgotten we hadn't talked in awhile. For awhile, I was keeping it a secret."

"Why are you sorry?" he asked, confused and wrinkling his forehead. "I was just curious cause Nico said you were a good person to have with you in a fight especially if you were by water, and well, it made sense if your dad was Poseidon. That's so cool."

"Oh, I'm just sorry I hadn't told you earlier," Percy clarified, shaking his head. "And Nico said that about me? Really?"

That was...surprising.

"Nico's not always big on compliments but yeah, if I'm around water, I'm pretty much unbeatable."

"You didn't have to. It's a good thing the school's on an island then," Bobby pondered. "Cause if you grew up in Missouri like me there wouldn't really be water to use. But yeah, Nico did. I didn't think he was joking about that so I had to ask. Did you always know?"

"No," Percy said, shaking his head. "I didn't know until about three years ago. My mom knew but she kept it from me until I was ready to hear it. I mean, I was always a good swimmer and could hold my breath for a long time but nothing like I've discovered recently."
